Rudy La Scala
Rudy La Scala (born January 20, 1954) is a singer-songwriter and record producer, born in Rocca di Papa, Lazio, Italy. At a young age, La Scala migrated to Venezuela, where he completed his primary and secondary studies, while learning piano and guitar. He began his career with a short lived band named Las Explosiones de Goma in the 1960s. In 1971 he was presented as a solo artist under the name Flavio, finally presenting himself as Rudy La Scala in 1974. His work as a songwriter has been very successful, including songs recorded by Karina (Venezuelan singer), Karina, María Conchita Alonso, Guillermo Dávila, Kiara (Venezuelan entertainer), Kiara, Ruddy Rodríguez, Proyecto M, Carlos Mata, Payasitas Nifu Nifa , Las Payasitas Nifu Nifa and Gerardo Mora. Since October 2012, chart rankings are based on digital sales, radio airplay, and online streaming, and only predominantly Spanish language songs are allowed to rank. The chart was established by the magazine on September 6, 1986, and was originally based on airplay on Latin music radio stations. Songs on the chart were not necessarily in Spanish language, since a few songs in English and Portuguese language have also charted. "Por Qué Será" ("Why Will That Be?") is a song written, produced, and performed by Italo-Venezuelans, Italo-Venezuelan singer-songwriter Rudy La Scala. It was released as the lead single from Scala's fifth studio album Por Qué Será, of the same title (1991), and became his second No. 1 single in the Top Latin Songs, ''Billboard'' Top Latin Songs chart following "El Cariño Es Como Una Flor" the previous year. The song debuted in the ''Billboard'' Top Latin Songs chart (formerly Hot Latin Tracks) chart at No. 22 in the week of September 14, 1991, climbing to the top ten four weeks later.
