Ponvannan
Ponvannan (born Shanmugam; 23 September 1963) is an Indian actor and director who has worked in Tamil cinema and television. After beginning his career as an artist (painter), Ponvannan apprenticed as a director and writer under Bharathiraja. He subsequently made his directorial debut with ''Annai Vayal'' (1992), before making the critically acclaimed venture, ''Nadhi Karaiyinile'' (2003). He has since appeared as a supporting actor in films, winning acclaim for his role in films including ''Paruthiveeran'' (2007), '' Ayan'' (2009) and '' Kaaviya Thalaivan'' (2014). In October 2015, he was elected as the Vice President of the Nadigar Sangam alongside Karunas. Gomathi Nayagam
''Gomathi Nayagam'' is a 2004 Indian Tamil language comedy film directed by Ponvannan. The film stars Ponvannan, Haripriya and Karthika, with Manivannan, Ilavarasu, Ponnambalam, Devan, Vishnu Prasad, Madhan Bob, Halwa Vasu and Kottachi in supporting roles. Saranya Ponvannan
Saranya Ponvannan (born Sheela Christina) is an Indian actress who predominantly appears in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam language films. Saranya made her debut in a lead role in Mani Ratnam's ''Nayakan'' (1987) and went on to play lead roles from 1987 to 1996. Following an eight-year sabbatical, she returned to films in 2003 as a character actor roles. The Nadigar Sangam ( en, Actors' association), officially known as the South Indian Artistes' Association (SIAA), is a union for film, television, and stage actors in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, based in Chennai. Formed in 1952, the group has a charitable trust fund to provide pensions to retired actors, voice support for actors caught in controversy, and have collectively protested socio-political issues. Elections in the Nadigar Sangam, which is made up of over 3000 members, are held once every three years to determine the president of the group. R. Suvaluxmi (born 19 August 1977) is a former Indian actress who predominantly appeared in Tamil films. She also appeared in Bengali, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada films. Bharathiraja (born 17 July 1941) is an Indian film director and actor who works mainly in the Tamil film industry. Making his debut in 1977 with ''16 Vayathinile'', he is known for realistic and sensitive portrayals of rural life in his films. As of 2017, he has won six National Film Awards, four Filmfare Awards South, two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and a Nandi Awards, Nandi Award.
