Pontus Almqvist
Pontus Skule Erik Almqvist (born 10 July 1999) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays for Polish club Pogoń Szczecin. He is also signed to Russian club Rostov, but that contract is suspended. He is deployed as a winger (most often on the right side) or centre-forward. Career After attending trials in Stockholm, Almqvist joined the Nike Football Academy before signing a professional contract with Norrköping for the 2017 season. On 23 September 2017, he made his debut for Norrköping, playing the last ten minutes in a 2–1 loss to Halmstads. He spent part of the 2017 season loan at Division 2 side IF Sylvia where he played three games and scored one goal. He joined Varbergs BoIS on loan at the start of the 2018 season and played four times before returning to Norrköping in July 2018. Nyköping () is a Urban areas in Sweden, locality and the seat of Nyköping Municipality, Södermanland County, Sweden with 32,759 inhabitants as of 2017. Nike Football Academy
The Nike Football Academy was an English football academy funded and administered by Nike, Inc. The academy had a revolving squad of unsigned under-20 players and was run with the intention of helping them find a professional club. The academy was based at St George's Park National Football Centre. The squad was made up of players scouted worldwide and drafted to the squad through Nike Most Wanted trials. Over 50 players have gone on to play professional football over the years. The programme was led by Manager Jon Goodman, with former Wolverhampton Wanderers player Matt Murray who worked as Assistant Manager. The programme was also known for its collaborations with top class professional players, including Sami Khedira, Joe Hart, Rio Ferdinand, Francesco Totti, Mario Gotze and others. Ettan Fotboll, or simply Ettan ( en, the one), which also is its common name in everyday speech, is the third level in the Swedish football league system and consists of 32 Swedish football teams. Superettan (; meaning the super first (division)) is an association football league and the second highest league in the league system of Swedish men's football. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Allsvenskan and Division 1. Seasons run from April to October, with teams playing 30 matches each, totalling 240 matches in the season. The league was created in 2000. The 2020 Allsvenskan, part of the 2020 Swedish football season, was the 96th season of Allsvenskan since its establishment in 1924. A total of 16 teams participated. Djurgårdens IF were the defending champions after winning the title in the previous season. The 2020 Allsvenskan season was scheduled to begin on 4 April and end on 8 November 2020 (not including play-off matches), but due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Sweden the opening games of the season were delayed. On 4 June 2020, the Swedish government and the Public Health Agency of Sweden announced that the travel restrictions within Sweden were lifted.
