The Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro ( pt, Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, PUC-Rio) is a Jesuit, Catholic, pontifical university in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is the joint responsibility of the Catholic Archdiocese of São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro and the Society of Jesus. In 2019, PUC-Rio was ranked as the fourth best university in Latin America by ''Times Higher Education'' magazine. History The University was created in 1941 by the Society of Jesus to emphasize humanistic values in the pursuit of knowledge. A student exchange program is a program in which students from a secondary school (high school) or university study abroad at one of their institution's partner institutions. Business is the practice of making one's living or making money by producing or buying and selling products (such as goods and services).
