Polonia London VC is a semi-professional volleyball team based in London, Great Britain. The club plays in the Super League, highest level of the English Volleyball League. The male section of the club is named IBB Polonia London (since 2013), the female section is named Polonia SideOut London. Volleyball Clubs Established In 1973
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. Krzysztof Ignaczak (born 15 May 1978) is a Polish former professional volleyball player. He was a member of the Poland national team in 1998–2014. A participant at the Olympic Games ( Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012), the 2014 World Champion, 2012 World League winner, and the 2009 European Champion. Personal life Krzysztof Ignaczak was born in Wałbrzych, Poland. He is married to Iwona. Volleyball England is the national governing body for indoor volleyball, sitting volleyball and beach volleyball in England. It selects the national teams and coordinates several national competitions, including the National Volleyball League, National Cup, Student Cup and Sitting Volleyball competitions. For beach volleyball it partners with the UK Beach Tour (UKBT) to deliver tournaments across the UK and a national ranking system for players. English Women's Volleyball League
The English Women's Volleyball League is the major volleyball national competition for women in England, established in 1977. It is organised by the English Volleyball Association (EVA). Formula of the competition In the season 2018/19 the championship was held in two stages. On the first 9 teams played in one round, on the second – the best 5 teams played in two more rounds (all results of the first stage were taken into account). For the victory with the score 3:0 and 3:1 the teams get 3 points, 3:2 – 2 points, for the defeat with the score 2:3 – 1 point, 0:3 and 1:3 – 0 points.
