Inner Mongolia
Inner Mongolia, officially the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is an autonomous region of the People's Republic of China. Its border includes most of the length of China's border with the country of Mongolia. Inner Mongolia also accounts for a small section of China's border with Russia (Zabaykalsky Krai). Its capital is Hohhot; other major cities include Baotou, Chifeng, Tongliao, and Ordos. The autonomous region was established in 1947, incorporating the areas of the former Republic of China provinces of Suiyuan, Chahar, Rehe, Liaobei, and Xing'an, along with the northern parts of Gansu and Ningxia. Its area makes it the third largest Chinese administrative subdivision, constituting approximately and 12% of China's total land area. Shi Taifeng (; born September 1956) is a Chinese politician currently serving as the head of the United Front Work Department of the Chinese Communist Party, a member of the Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party, and a secretary of the Secretariat of the Chinese Communist Party. He previously served as the President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 2022. Originally from Shanxi province, Shi spent part of his career at the Central Party School. Wang Lixia
Wang Lixia (; mn, ; born June 1964) is a Chinese politician of Mongol heritage, currently serving as deputy party chief, party branch secretary and chairwoman of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region People's Government (equivalent of a provincial governor). In 2019, she was the only female party chief of a provincial-level capital in China. Prior to that, she served as party chief of Hohhot, the capital of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and director of the United Front Department of the CPC Inner Mongolia Committee from 2016 to 2019 and vice governor of Shaanxi from 2013 to 2016. Bu Xiaolin
Bu Xiaolin (; mn, ; born August 1958) is a Chinese politician of Mongol descent. She had served as chairwoman of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region People's Government (equivalent of a provincial governor) since March 2016. She is the daughter of Buhe, a former chairman of Inner Mongolia, and the granddaughter of Ulanhu, the founding chairman of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and a Vice President of China. Bagatur or Bater ( mn, ; born February 1955) is a Chinese politician of Mongol ancestry, formerly serving as the Chairman of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission. A career party functionary with background in the Communist Youth League, Bagatur steadily ascended the ranks of government, spending his entire career in Inner Mongolia. Between 2009 and 2016, he served as Chairman of Inner Mongolia. Yang Jing
Yang Jing (; born December 1953) is a former Chinese politician of Mongol heritage. He previously served as State Councilor and Secretary-General of the State Council, and the President of the Chinese Academy of Governance. Prior to his ascendance to leading roles at the State Council, he served as the Director of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission (2008-2013), and the Chairman of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (2003-2008). Yang was one of the highest-ranking non-Han officials in the Chinese government. Uyunqimg or Oyunchimeg (, mn, , Оюунчимэг, translit=Oyuunchimeg, ; born December 1942) is a retired Chinese politician of Mongol ethnicity. Between 2008 and 2013, she served as a Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the national legislature. Between 2000 and 2003 Uyunqimg served as Chairwoman of Inner Mongolia. She is the highest ranked woman of ethnic minority background to have served in the Chinese government in the history of the People's Republic. Yun Bulong (; December 1937 – 12 June 2000) was a Chinese politician of Tumed Mongol ethnicity. He served as Chairman (Governor) of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region from 1998 until his accidental death in June 2000, when his car was hit by a train at a railway crossing. Buhe or Bu He (, mn, ; Бөх; March 1927 – May 5, 2017), also known as Yun Shuguang, was a Chinese politician of Mongol descent. The eldest son of the powerful Inner Mongolia leader Ulanhu, Buhe served as Chairman of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region between 1982 and 1993.
