''Poikkal Kudhirai'' () is a 1983 Indian Tamil-language comedy film directed by K. Balachander and produced by Kalaivani. The film was the Tamil debut of the lead actor Ramakrishna. Lyricist Vaali also made his acting debut through this film. Kamal Haasan appeared in a guest role. ''Poikkal Kudhirai'' was based on Crazy Mohan's play ''Marriage Made in Saloon''. The film was an average success. Plot ''Poikkal Kuthirai'' is a hilarious depiction of how Sambandam — who bets on each and every small thing and wins — and Indu enter into a bet at a saloon owned by Muthu. Crazy Mohan
Mohan Rangachari (16 October 1952 – 10 June 2019) known professionally as Crazy Mohan, was an Indian actor, comedian, screenwriter and playwright. An engineer by profession, Mohan started writing plays and established his own drama troupe called "Crazy Creations" in 1979. In addition to dramas and tele-serials, Mohan worked as a dialogue writer on a number of comedy films. Mohan had written over 30 plays, worked on over 40 films, having cameo roles in each film, and written 100 short stories. The Tamil Nadu state government in the year 2004, awarded him the Kalaimamani title for excellence in the field of arts and literature. Vasudevan (15 June 1944 – 20 February 2011), known as Malaysia Vasudevan, was a Malaysian-Indian playback singer and actor in Tamil cinema. Early life Malaysia Vasudevan's parents were from Palakkad. Chattu Nair of Ottappalam and Ammalu of Polpulli, along with their families migrated to British Malaya in search of a livelihood. After a few years, Chattu Nair married Ammalu in an arranged marriage. Vasudevan was born on 15 June 1944 as their eighth and youngest child. Even though he was a Malayali, as was the case with the majority of contemporary South Indian migrants to Malaya then, his surroundings in Malaysia was dominated by the Tamil language and culture.
