Poetry In Motion (song)
"Poetry in Motion" is a UK No. 1 hit single in 1961, recorded amongst others by Johnny Tillotson. Tillotson's version was the most successful. Background The song was written by Paul Kaufman (1930–1999) and Mike Anthony (born 1930), who said that the inspiration for it came from looking up from their work and seeing a procession of young ladies from a nearby school pass by on the sidewalk outside each afternoon. Bill Porter supervised the recording session in Nashville, Tennessee, which featured saxophonist Boots Randolph, pianist Floyd Cramer and bassist Floyd "Lightning" Chance. An alternative version, with King Curtis on saxophone, was recorded some weeks earlier and published by Bear Family Records in 2011. In the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100, "Poetry in Motion" peaked at No. 2 in November 1960, kept out of the No. 1 spot by "Georgia on My Mind" by Ray Charles. Johnny Tillotson
Johnny Tillotson (born April 20, 1938) is an American singer-songwriter. He enjoyed his greatest success in the early 1960s, when he scored nine top-ten hits on the pop, country, and adult contemporary ''Billboard'' charts, including " Poetry in Motion" and the self-penned "It Keeps Right On a-Hurtin'" and " Without You". Biography Tillotson is the son of Doris and Jack Tillotson, who owned a small service station on the corner of 6th and Pearl in Jacksonville, and acted as the station's mechanic. At the age of nine, Johnny was sent to Palatka, Florida, to take care of his grandmother. He returned to Jacksonville each summer to be with his parents when his brother Dan would go to his grandmother. Johnny began to perform at local functions as a child, and by the time he was at Palatka Senior High School he had developed a reputation as a talented singer. The saxophone (often referred to colloquially as the sax) is a type of single-reed woodwind instrument with a conical body, usually made of brass. ''The Guest Book'' is an American anthology comedy television series created by Greg Garcia. Season one starred Charlie Robinson, Carly Jibson, Lou Wilson, and Kellie Martin, while season two starred Jibson, Eddie Steeples, Kimiko Glenn, Jimmy Tatro, and Dan Beirne. The series centers on the lives of the employees of, and visitors to, vacation rental properties: season one focuses on the renters of Froggy Cottage in the small mountain town of Mount Trace, while season two follows the renters of Barefeet Retreat in the oceanside town of Mabel Beach. Honeyhoney
Honeyhoney (stylized as honeyhoney) is an Americana group based in Los Angeles, California, United States. History The band was formed in 2006 by musician Benjamin Jaffe and musician/model/actress Suzanne Santo. The two met at a costume party and signed a record deal a year later. They originally performed under the name Zanzibar Lewis and were under that name when they signed with the now-defunct Ironworks record label. Their debut album, '' First Rodeo'', was released by Ironworks on November 4. Ironworks co-owner Kiefer Sutherland directed and starred in the group's music video for their song "Little Toy Gun". Honeyhoney toured with Lifehouse, another Ironworks band, at the start of their career. Mud are an English glam rock band, formed in February 1966. ''Tio i Topp'' (English: ''Ten At The Top'') was a Swedish record chart and radio program broadcast by Sveriges Radio P3 between the years of 1961 and 1974. It was launched to combat pirate radio charts and was the first official Swedish record chart, predating the sales chart Kvällstoppen by a year. For a few months during the summers starting in 1962, it would turn into ''Sommartoppen'' (English: ''The Summer Top'') with a separate host and a different concept. Robert Thomas Velline (April 30, 1943 – October 24, 2016), known professionally as Bobby Vee, was an American singer who was a teen idol in the early 1960s and also appeared in films. According to '' Billboard'' magazine, he had thirty-eight Hot 100 chart hits, ten of which reached the Top 20. He had six gold singles in his career. Life Vee was born in Fargo, North Dakota, to Sydney Ronald Velline (a chef, pianist and fiddle player) and Saima Cecelia Tapanila, in a family of Norwegian and Finnish heritage. Personal life Vee and Karen Bergen married December 28, 1963.
