Plácido Galindo
Plácido Reynaldo Galindo Pando''(9 March 1906 – 22 October 1988) was a Peruvian football midfielder who played for Peru in the 1930 FIFA World Cup, where he also became the first ever player sent off in a World Cup match. He also was a player, manager and president of Universitario de Deportes. Universitario de Deportes Plácido Galindo played for Universitario de Deportes from 1924 to 1933. As part of a group of students of the University of San Marcos he founded the then called Federación Universitaria de Fútbol in 1924. The club played friendly matches until it was admitted in the first Peruvian Primera División tournament in 1928, in which it ended as runner up. The next year Galindo and the club won the 1929 Peruvian Primera División. 1934 Peruvian Primera División
The 1934 Peruvian Soccer Championship had nine participating teams. The champion of this tournament was Club Universitario de deportes. The season's top scorers were Teodoro Fernández Meyzán and Jorge "Campolo" Alcalde, both with 10 goals. In this way, "Lolo" Fernández managed for the first time to be the top scorer in the Peruvian First Division for three consecutive years, a record he holds together with Valeriano López. There is controversy about this championship regarding the team that should have been awarded the title. The twelfth edition of the South American Championship was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 1 to 17 November 1929. The 1928 edition was postponed due to the participation of Chile, Uruguay and Argentina in the 1928 Summer Olympics held in Amsterdam, Netherlands, where Uruguay and Argentina won gold and silver respectively. Francisco Bru
Francisco Bru Sanz (12 April 1885 – 10 June 1962), also known as Paco Bru, was a Spanish football player, referee and manager. As a footballer he played as a striker and midfielder for FC Internacional and as a defender for FC Barcelona, RCD Español and the Catalan XI. After retiring as a player, Bru became a referee and took charge of the 1916 and 1917 Copa del Rey finals. He later became the first ever manager of Spain, guiding them to the silver medal at the 1920 Olympic Games. As a manager with Real Madrid, then known as ''Madrid CF'', he won the Copa de España twice during the 1930s. 1929 Peruvian Primera División
The 1929 Primera División was the 14th season of top-flight Peruvian football. A total of 13 teams competed in this league, with Federación Universitaria winning its first league title. Alianza Lima was disqualified after 7 games; their record was deleted but they were admitted for 1930. Changes from 1928 Structural changes The 1928 season was reduced from 19 to 13 teams and was played in a single league table instead of two. Thus, the championship group stage was removed. Two teams were relegated instead of eight. Promotion and Relegation Santa Catalina, Lawn Tennis, Asociación Alianza, Alberto Secada, Jorge Washington, Alianza Callao, José Alaya and Unión were relegated by placing last in their respective groups.
