Plattenhardt
Plattenhardt is a former municipality in the Esslingen district, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It was first recorded in year 1269 as ''Blatinhart''. In 1975 it was merged with the municipalities Bernhausen, Bonlanden, Sielmingen and Harthausen to form the new town Filderstadt. Plattenhardt is today a quarter of Filderstadt, formally named Filderstadt-Plattenhardt. It has 8,482 inhabitants and is located 27 km from Stuttgart. Filderstadt
Filderstadt (; Swabian: ''Fildorsdadd'') is a town in the district of Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. It is located approximately 13 km south of Stuttgart. Filderstadt is located next to the Stuttgart Airport and the new Trade Fair. Line S2 of the Stuttgart S-Bahn terminates at Filderstadt station. Filderstadt was created as a town in 1975 from five smaller villages called Bernhausen, Bonlanden, Plattenhardt, Sielmingen and Harthausen. From 1978 to 2005, it played host to the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, a WTA Tier II event. Princess Claire of Luxembourg was born here on 21 March 1985. Bernhausen is a former municipality in the Esslingen district, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It was first recorded in year 1089 as ''Berinhusen''. In 1975 it was merged with the municipalities Bonlanden, Plattenhardt, Sielmingen and Harthausen to form the new town Filderstadt. Esslingen (district)
Esslingen is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the centre of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise) Rems-Murr, Göppingen, Reutlingen, Böblingen and the district-free city Stuttgart. Until 15 October 1964 the district's name was written officially as Landkreis Eßlingen. History The district dates back to the Oberamt Esslingen, which was created when the previously free imperial city of Esslingen am Neckar became part of Württemberg in 1803. It was changed several times in the course of history. Since 1810 it belonged to the ''Landvogtei Rothenberg'' and from 1818 until it was dissolved in 1924 to the ''Neckarkreis''.
