''Platinum Collection'' is the third greatest hits album released by pop group Steps. The album was released on 19 August 2022 through Sony Music Entertainment. The album is to mark the twenty fifth anniversary of the group's formation back in 1997. The album features Steps' greatest hits along with two brand new songs; "Hard 2 Forget", and "The Runner". Background and promotion On June 1, 2022, Steps announced they would be releasing their third greatest hits album “Platinum Collection” to celebrate 25 years in the music industry and since their formation in 1997. Following the announcement of the upcoming release, group members Lisa Scott-Lee, and Faye Tozer, were interviewed with Official Charts Company. Steps (group)
Steps are a British dance-pop group consisting of Lee Latchford-Evans, Claire Richards, Lisa Scott-Lee, Faye Tozer and Ian "H" Watkins. Steps were formed in May 1997 and achieved a series of charting singles between 1997 and 2001 including two number-one singles in the UK (one a double A-side), two number-one albums in the UK, 14 consecutive top 5 singles in the UK and a string of hits throughout Europe. The group has sold over 22 million records worldwide in addition to acquiring a BRIT Award nomination in 1999 for Best Newcomer while supporting Britney Spears on tour the same year. When Richards and Watkins departed to form a recording duo, the group disbanded on 26 December 2001. Their penultimate single reached number five in the UK charts while their final album of greatest hits, ''Gold'' (2001), was the group's second number-one album in the UK. ''Steptacular'' is the second studio album by British pop group Steps, released in the United Kingdom on 25 October 1999, through Jive Records. The album was accompanied by five singles; "Love's Got a Hold on My Heart", "After the Love Has Gone", " Say You'll Be Mine", "Deeper Shade of Blue" and "When I Said Goodbye" all hit the UK top 5, making ''Steptacular'' the first Steps album to contain fix consecutive UK top-five hits. ''Steptacular'' debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart, and it remained on the position for three weeks, selling 260,000 copies in the same time frame. What The Future Holds
''What the Future Holds'' is the sixth studio album by the British group Steps and was their first album to be released with their new record label BMG on 27 November 2020. They had originally intended to release the project in the Spring, however the global outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and imposing of lockdown resulted in a temporary delay of promotion. The album was preceded by singles "What the Future Holds" and "Something in Your Eyes". Promotional tracks "Under My Skin", "Hold My Heart" and "To the Beat of My Heart" were also released, the latter becoming the album's third single in January 2021. "What the Future Holds" is a song recorded by British group Steps for their sixth studio album of the same name (2020). Background and release On 7 September 2020, Steps announced that they would release their sixth album ''What the Future Holds'' on 27 November, preceded by its title track, in addition to embarking on a United Kingdom arena tour in 2021. In a message released online, the group stated "We couldn't keep it a secret any longer!" It is their first album to be released with their new record label based in the United States, BMG. Peter Alan Waterman, (born 15 January 1947) is an English record producer, songwriter, radio and club DJ, television presenter, president of Coventry Bears rugby league club and a keen railway enthusiast. As a member of the Stock Aitken Waterman songwriting team, he wrote and produced many hit singles. Maurice Ernest Gibb (; 22 December 1949 – 12 January 2003) was a British musician. He achieved fame as a member of the pop group Bee Gees. Although his elder brother Barry Gibb and fraternal twin brother Robin Gibb were the group's main lead singers, most of their albums included at least one or two songs featuring Maurice's lead vocals, including " Lay It on Me", "Country Woman" and " On Time". Robin Hugh Gibb (22 December 1949 – 20 May 2012) was a British singer and songwriter.
