Planet X (bike)
Planet X is a bicycle company based in Rotherham, in the north of England. It was founded in 1988 by Dave Loughran and, in 2020, became an employee-owned trust. Planet X operates a number of brands including On-One components and Titus bikes. Production Planet X works with Taiwanese, Chinese and Italian companies to manufacture its road, cyclocross, track and time-trial frames. Retail Planet X operates only online and has no retail stores. Sponsorship Planet X sponsored the world XTERRA Triathlon champion, Julie Dibens, during 2008 for a successful defence of her world title. In 2003, Planet-X sponsored the Trialskings team who used Planet-X Pitbull and Jack Flash frames. These were present in Trialskings team videos, ridden by Danny Holroyd and other members. Rotherham
Rotherham () is a large minster and market town in South Yorkshire, England. The town takes its name from the River Rother which then merges with the River Don. The River Don then flows through the town centre. It is the main settlement of the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham. Rotherham is also the third largest settlement in South Yorkshire after Sheffield and Doncaster, which it is located between. Traditional industries included glass making and flour milling. XTERRA Triathlon
XTERRA is a series of cross triathlon races, i.e. three-sport races which include swimming, mountain biking, and trail running. The XTERRA Global Tour is owned and produced by XTERRA Sports Limited. The XTERRA race series is the best-known series of cross triathlons, and is considered by most to be the ''de facto'' world championship of the sport. It began in 1996 on the Hawaiian island of Maui as the ''Aquaterra'', and was later renamed the ''XTERRA''. Japanese automaker Nissan licensed the name from the triathlon series for their own 1999-2015 sport utility vehicle — and was the race series' primary sponsor from 1998 to 2006, when the two companies parted ways. Julie Dibens
Julie Claire Dibens (born 4 March 1975 in Salisbury, England) is a former professional triathlete. She represented Great Britain in the 2004 Summer Olympics and has won the 2009 Ironman 70.3 World Championship as well as the XTERRA Triathlon World Champion in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Dibens retired as a professional triathlete and is now a full time triathlon coach. She lives in Boulder, Colorado, USA. Background Dibens started her sporting career in swimming, competing for Great Britain as a junior in 1991. She then received a swimming scholarship from Louisiana State University (LSU) where she obtained All American honors.
