Pizza Jerk is a pizzeria with three locations in Portland, Oregon. Tommy Habetz opened the original restaurant in 2015. History The first Pizza Jerk opened in 2015. The original Pizza Jerk caught fire in June, re-opening in September. A second location opened in southeast Portland's Buckman neighborhood in 2018. Reception '' Bon Appetit'' named Pizza Jerk one of the country's "50 Best New Restaurants". Thrillist named the restaurant one the best pizzerias in the U.S. '' Portland Monthly'' included the pizzeria in a list of the city's best new restaurants of 2016. Kara Stokes included Pizza Jerk in ''Eater Portland'''s 2021 overview of recommended eateries in northeast Portland's Cully neighborhood. Cully, Portland, Oregon
Cully is a neighborhood in the Northeast section of Portland, Oregon. The neighborhood, as well as NE Cully Blvd. that runs diagonally through it, is named after English stonemason Thomas Cully (1810–1891), an early settler. Cully borders Sunderland, Concordia, and Beaumont-Wilshire on the west, Portland International Airport on the north, Sumner on the east, and Rose City Park and Roseway on the south. Neighborhood parks include Sacajawea Park (1985), Rigler Community Garden (2004), Kʰunamokwst Park (2015), and Whitaker Ponds Nature Park (1998). Nevertheless, Cully has the smallest amount of parkland per capita, and largest population living more than one-half mile from a park, of any Portland neighborhood. Northeast Portland is one of the six major divisions of Portland, Oregon. Northeast Portland contains a diverse collection of neighborhoods. For example, while Irvington and the Alameda Ridge feature some of the oldest and most expensive homes in Portland, nearby King is a more working-class neighborhood. Buckman is a neighborhood in the Southeast section (and a small portion of the Northeast section) of Portland, Oregon. The neighborhood is bounded by the Willamette River on the west, E Burnside St. on the north (except for a triangle between NE 12th Ave. and NE 14th Ave. in which NE Sandy Blvd. forms the northern border), SE 28th Ave. on the east, and SE Hawthorne Blvd. on the south. Southeast Portland is one of the sextants of Portland, Oregon. Boundaries and features Southeast Portland stretches from the warehouses along the Willamette River through historic Ladd's Addition to the Hawthorne and Belmont districts out to Gresham. Not far from Hawthorne is Reed College, whose campus expands from Woodstock Boulevard to Steele Street, and from 28th to 39th Avenues. Southeast Portland also features Mt.
