Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix
The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is a vintage motor sports car race and 10-day Motorsport Festival that takes place annually in mid-July in Schenley Park located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. With an estimated 200,000 spectators during the 10 days, the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is one of the largest vintage sports car race events in the United States and the only one run entirely on city streets. The race originated in 1983 and grows each year with an ever-widening national and international recognition as one of the premier vintage motorsports events. The race is the highlight of a 10-day Race Week. The opening weekend at Pittsburgh International Race Complex hosts the PVGP Historics for faster cars. Schenley Park () is a large municipal park located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, between the neighborhoods of Oakland, Greenfield, and Squirrel Hill. It is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district. In 2011, the park was named one of "America's Coolest City Parks" by '' Travel + Leisure''. The park is made up of donated by Mary Schenley in 1889 and another that the city subsequently purchased from her. Pittsburgh International Race Complex (commonly known as Pitt Race) is an auto racing road course located in Wampum, Pennsylvania. Pitt Race hosts amateur and professional automobile, motorcycle, and karting events. The track Pittsburgh International Race Complex offers three track configurations. The North track configuration is and the South track covers . The full course is in length and combines both the North and South track.
