Pitts Ferry is a community that is part of Kingston, Frontenac County, Ontario, Canada. Geography Pitts Ferry is on the east side of Kingston on the Bateau Channel of the Saint Lawrence River, on north shore of the river. The north shore of Howe Island lies across on the south side of the channel. The town crossroads at the intersection of Highway 2 and Joyceville Road / Howe Island Ferry Road, and the location given for the community in the Atlas of Canada, is at an elevation of , slightly above the level of the St. Lawrence. Frontenac County is a county and census division of the Canadian province of Ontario. It is located in the eastern portion of Southern Ontario. The city of Kingston is in the Frontenac census division, but is separated from the County of Frontenac. Gananoque ( ) is a town in the Leeds and Grenville area of Ontario, Canada. Stretching over 3600 km (2236 miles) from Prince Township, west of Sault Ste. Marie, to the Quebec border, the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail is a signed route of interconnecting roads and off-road trails joining over 150 communities and First Nations along the Canadian shores of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River. Mark Gerretsen (born June 5, 1975) is a Canadian politician who is the Member of Parliament for Kingston and the Islands as a member of the Liberal Party of Canada. He was first elected in the 2015 federal election, and re-elected in 2019 and 2021. John Gerretsen
John Philip Gerretsen (born June 9, 1942) is a former politician in Ontario, Canada. He was a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1995 to 2014 who represented the eastern Ontario riding of Kingston and the Islands. He served as a Minister in the Cabinets of Premiers Dalton McGuinty and Kathleen Wynne. Early life Gerretsen was born in Hilversum, Netherlands during World War II, and moved to Canada with his parents in 1954.
