Pistolero (song)
Pistolero is a single released by trance band Juno Reactor, taken from their fifth album ''Shango'', released in 1998. The song opens with Spanish acoustic guitar and a female voice saying, "I hate robbing banks" followed by a blast of gun fire that introduces the beat. "Pistolero" was done in a collaboration between Ben Watkins and Steve Stevens, guitarist for Billy Idol. The song opened up an entirely new direction for Juno Reactor. Trivia The voice sample used at the beginning of the song, "I hate robbing banks", was said by Anne Baxter in the 1966 ''Batman'' episode "Zelda the Great". Pistolero was featured during the trailer for the movie ''Once Upon a Time in Mexico'' as well as the film itself and was subsequently included on the film's soundtrack. It also featured in ''Jet Moto 3'' and '' Sugar & Spice'' and is the background music of the Israeli TV Spanish Football League matches. Juno Reactor is a multi-national musical and performing group, primarily based in Brighton, UK. Known for their cinematic fusion of electronic, global influences, and orchestral symphonic approach, collaborating with composer Don Davis and composing for the musical score of '' The Matrix (Reloaded and Revolutions)''. Central to the project is Ben Watkins and his collaborations with a constantly changing ensemble of musicians from across the world. This ensemble has included Mabi Thobejane, Amampondo, Steve Stevens, Eduardo Niebla, Greg Ellis, Taz Alexander, Sugizo, Budgie and recently Hamsika Iyer and Maggie Hikri. Martin Freeland
Martin Freeland is a British Goa trance artist, record producer and DJ, who has performed under the pseudonym of Man With No Name since 1990. He is best known for the singles "Teleport" and "Floor-Essence", both of which appeared in the UK Singles Chart. Music career Early work: 1985–1993 Freeland's career began in the mid 1980s, working as a producer and remixer for various dance artists such as Belouis Some and Mirage. In the late 1980s he began producing original material under the names of Positiv Noize, Perfectly Ordinary People and Pisces, with the latter experimenting with the sound of techno with the single "Take Me Higher". In 1990 Freeland released the single "Way Out West" under the name of Man With No Name. Fluke (band)
Fluke was an English electronic music group formed in the late 1980s by Mike Bryant, Jon Fugler and Mike Tournier. The band were noted for their diverse range of electronic styles, including house, techno, ambient, big beat and downtempo; for their reclusivity, rarely giving interviews; and for lengthy timespans between albums. Fluke produced five original studio albums, three compilation albums, and a live album. They made several line-up changes over the years, with credited appearances attributed to Neil Davenport on guitars, Robin Goodridge on drums and Hugh Bryder as a DJ.
