Pirkko Mannola
Pirkko Mannola (born 27 December 1938) is a Finnish actress and singer. Career Mannola has appeared in more than 50 films and television shows since 1959. She starred in the film '' Kaks' tavallista Lahtista'', which was entered into the 10th Berlin International Film Festival. In 1958 she won the Miss Finland beauty contest. In the early 1960s, Mannola had a successful career as a singer in Germany. Personal life Mannola was married to film director Ã…ke Lindman from 1968 until his death in 2009. They had one daughter. Sääksmäki
Sääksmäki is a village and a former municipality, currently part of Valkeakoski in the Pirkanmaa region of Western Finland. A past president of Finland, Pehr Evind Svinhufvud, the Finnish film producer and director Veikko Aaltonen, eminent Finnish historian Eino Jutikkala, and actress Pirkko Mannola, were born there. Sääksmäki's most famous building is the medieval stone Sääksmäki Church, built at the end of the 15th century. It is one of the oldest buildings in Finland. It features wooden sculptures that were created by an anonymous artist, known as the "Master of Sääksmäki". Sääksmäki's architecture also includes manor houses that date back hundreds of years. Åke Leonard Lindman (born Åke Leonard Järvinen; 11 January 1928 – 3 March 2009) was a Finnish director and actor. In his youth Lindman was a football player, playing defence for the Finnish national team during the Olympics in Helsinki 1952. He represented the football club HIFK in the Finnish league where he played 81 games and scored 9 goals, he also played in second division for 8 seasons. In the 1960s, the British English Football League club Swindon Town F.C. wanted to sign him, but he turned them down to focus on his acting career. Åke Lindman's breakthrough as an actor came with his role as the stubborn soldier Lehto in the Edvin Laine film'' The Unknown Soldier'' in 1955. Miss Suomi ( Finnish for ''Miss Finland'') is a national beauty pageant in Finland. The pageant was founded in 1931, where the winners were sent to Miss Universe. History Miss Suomi was held for the first time in 1931. Marita Lindahl (17 October 1938 – 21 March 2017) was a Finnish model and beauty queen who won the 1957 Miss World beauty pageant, after being crowned Miss Finland 1957 by Miss Finland 1956, Sirpa Helena Koivu.
