''Piratas'' () is a Spanish adventure drama television series with comedy elements created by Carlos Portela and which stars Óscar Jaenada, Pilar Rubio and Silvia Abascal. It aired on Telecinco in 2011. Premise Set in the 18th century, the fiction follows the exploits of Álvaro Mondego (Óscar Jaenada), a member of the nobility who ends up captured by a pirate crew led by Captain Bocanegra (Aitor Mazo) and his daughter Carmen (Pilar Rubio). Óscar Jaenada
Óscar Jaenada Gajo (born 4 May 1975) is a Spanish actor. Career Jaenada began acting at the age of thirteen, performing in Shakespeare plays. The memory of his grandmother taking him to the Rívoli Cinema made him want to become an actor, as he commented in the magazine ''Fotogramas''. He trained with the theater group l'Endoll de Esplugues de Llobregat. Jaenada moved to Madrid to improve his career prospects, and got a job as a waiter at the Hard Rock Café. He obtained several television roles, appearing in ''7 vidas'' and ''Hospital Central'', before landing roles in feature films. Some of his early roles were in such productions as '' Lisístrata'' (2002) and ''Descongélate'' (2003). Shortly afterwards, Achero Mañas offered him the leading role in ''November'' (2003). Pilar Rubio
Pilar Rubio Fernández (born 17 March 1978) is a Spanish reporter and TV presenter. She became famous for covering events for the program '' Sé lo que hicisteis...'' for the television network La Sexta. From January 2010 to January 2013 she was linked to Telecinco, having hosted '' Operación Triunfo'' and '' ¡Más que baile!'', besides of being the protagonist of the series '' Piratas'', released in May 2011.
