Filippo "Pippo" Maniero (born 11 September 1972, in Padua) is an Italian retired association footballer who played as a Forward (association football)#Striker, striker. Club career Maniero played for several teams throughout his career, most notably A.C. Milan, Parma F.C., Parma, U.S. Città di Palermo, Palermo and Torino F.C., Torino. On 31 August 2005, after having been released on a free transfer consequently to the cancellation of Torino, he signed for Rangers F.C., Rangers, the last day of the transfer window at the start of the 2005–06 season. He later joined Piovese Calcio 1919, Nuova Piovese, a Veneto, Venetian team of Eccellenza league, leading it to Serie D promotion. In July 2006 he left Nuova Piovese for Legnarese, a small Prima Categoria (8th division) team in which he started his playing career, where he spent the 2006–07 season. The ''Pentamerone'', subtitled ''Lo cunto de li cunti'' ("The Tale of Tales"), is a seventeenth-century Neapolitan fairy tale collection by Italian poet and courtier Giambattista Basile. Background The stories in the ''Pentamerone'' were collected by Basile and published posthumously in two volumes by his sister Adriana in Naples, Italy, in 1634 and 1636 under the pseudonym Gian Alesio Abbatutis. These stories were later adapted by Charles Perrault and the Brothers Grimm, the latter making extensive, acknowledged use of Basile's collection. Examples of this are versions of Cinderella, Rapunzel, Puss in Boots, Sleeping Beauty, and Hansel and Gretel. While other collections of stories have included stories that would be termed fairy tales, his work is the first collection in which all the stories fit in that single category. Giuseppe Di Stefano
Giuseppe Di Stefano (24 July 19213 March 2008) was an Italian operatic tenor who sang professionally from the mid-1940s until the early 1990s. Called Pippo by both fans and friends, he was known as the "Golden voice" or "The most beautiful voice", as the true successor of Beniamino Gigli. Luciano Pavarotti said he modeled himself after Di Stefano. In an interview Pavarotti said "Di Stefano is my idol. ''There'' is a solar voice...It was the most incredible, open voice you could hear. The musicality of Di Stefano is as natural and beautiful as the voice is phenomenal". Di Stefano was also the tenor who most inspired José Carreras. He died on 3 March 2008 as a result of injuries from an attack by unknown assailants. Pippo Pollina (Palermo, May 18, 1963) born Giuseppe Pollina is an Italian singer-songwriter. He lives in Switzerland ( Zurich) and his music is known in German speaking countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) as well as in Italy.
