The town consisted of 10 acres purchased from R.G. Pinkard, and was recorded with Jackson County, Missouri on November 21, 1854, and recorded as Pink Hill, Missouri. The town was platted with 40 lots, with two 30 ft wide streets, Main Street and Locust Street, and two alleys 16.5 ft wide. Jackson County is located in the western portion of the U.S. state of Missouri.
