Pillaiyo Pillai
''Pillaiyo Pillai'' () is 1972 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by Krishnan–Panju, produced by Murasoli Maran and written by M. Karunanidhi. The film stars M. K. Muthu (in dual role) in his debut film appearance alongside Vijayakumari and Lakshmi, while Manohar, M. R. R. Vasu and G. Sakunthala play supporting roles. It was released on 23 June 1972 and emerged a commercial success. Plot Gangatharan, a criminal and womaniser, poses as a noble man in public. He indulges in stealing temple sculptures. Gangatharan murders his first wife and frames the crime his servant Murugan, who is arrested. Murugan escapes from prison and kidnaps Gangatharan's son and raises him as his own. Gangatharan gets remarried to Kanchana, whom Murugan kidnaps. But he releases her, when Kanchana confesses that she is bearing a child. Krishnan–Panju
R. Krishnan (1909–1997) and S. Panju (1915–1984), collectively referred to as Krishnan–Panju, were Indian film directors. The duo directed more than 50 films in South Indian languages and in Hindi. Early life R. Krishnan was born on 18 July 1909 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Previously, he was in charge of the laboratory in Pakshiraja Studios (then known as Kandhan studio) in Coimbatore. S. Panju was born on 24 January 1915 as Panchapakesan in Umayalpuram near Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu. Previously, he worked as an assistant editor under P. K. Raja Sandow and as assistant director under Ellis R. Dungan. He was also a film editor who edited films under the name Punjabi or Panjabi. Charukesi (pronounced chārukēśi) is a rāga in Carnatic music (musical scale of South Indian classical music). Carnatic raga refers to ''ragas'' used in Carnatic music. A Carnatic raga has several components - primordial sound (''nāda''), tonal system (''swara''), pitch (''śruti''), scale, ornaments ('' gamaka'') and important tones. Origins and history Carnatic raga classification Janaka ragas (Melakarta ragas) and Janya ragas(Upanga ragas) Janaka ragas or Sampoorna ragas are parent ragas from which more ragas are derived. Sampoorna ragas as the name suggest are those in which all 7 swaras are present. They are also called Melakarta ragas. Murasoli Maran
Murasoli Maran (17 August 1934 – 23 November 2003) was an Indian politician and an important leader of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party which was headed by his maternal uncle and mentor, M. Karunanidhi. A Member of Parliament for 36 years, he was made a Union Minister in three separate central governments, in charge of Urban Development in the V.P. Singh government, Industry in the Gowda and Gujral governments, and finally Commerce and Industry under Vajpayee. Apart from being a politician, Maran was a journalist and scriptwriter for films too.
