Piers Corbyn
Piers Richard Corbyn (born 10 March 1947) is an English weather forecaster, businessman, anti-vaxxer and conspiracy theorist. Born in Wiltshire, Corbyn was raised in Shropshire where he attended Adams' Grammar School. He was awarded a first class BSc degree in physics from Imperial College London in 1968 and a postgraduate MSc in astrophysics from Queen Mary College, University of London, in 1981. Corbyn was a member of the Labour Party and served as a councillor in the London Borough of Southwark from 1986 to 1990. He is the elder brother of former Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn. He left Labour due to his opposition to the Iraq War. Piers Gough
Piers Gough (born 24 April 1946) is an architect in the practice CZWG. His younger brothers are the composer Orlando Gough and Jamie Gough, the University of Sheffield's senior lecturer in Town and Regional Planning. Gough was born in Brighton, grew up in Hove, and went to Uppingham School, Rutland. He studied at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London and qualified in 1971. He co-founded the practice Campbell Zogolovitch Wilkinson and Gough, (now CZWG), in 1975. While working on his own house in east London in the 1970s, he fell through the floor and damaged his spine. The drop was only 10 feet but he was hospitalised for six months and now walks with the aid of a stick. Piers Alexander Gilliver (born 17 September 1994) is a British wheelchair fencer, who competes in both épée and sabre. He is the 2020 Paralympic champion in the Individual Épée, A classification. He is the first British Paralympic champion in the sport since Carol Walton in 1988. Gilliver has previously won medals at both World and European Championship level. Piers Gaveston, Earl of Cornwall (c. 1284 – 19 June 1312) was an English nobleman of Gascon origin, and the favourite of Edward II of England. At a young age, Gaveston made a good impression on King Edward I, who assigned him to the household of the King's son, Edward of Caernarfon. The prince's partiality for Gaveston was so extravagant that Edward I sent Gaveston into exile, but he was recalled a few months later, after the King's death led to the prince's accession as Edward II. Edward bestowed the Earldom of Cornwall on Gaveston, and arranged for him to marry Edward's niece Margaret de Clare, sister of the powerful Earl of Gloucester. Gaveston's exclusive access to the King provoked several members of the nobility, and in 1308, the King was again forced to send him into exile. Piers Frederick Alexander Flint-Shipman (23 January 1962 – 2 June 1984) was a 20th-century English actor. Early life He was the son of film producer Gerald Flint-Shipman, and received his formal education at Ampleforth College. Piers Alexander Hamilton Edgcumbe, 5th Earl of Mount Edgcumbe DL (1865–1944), was a soldier who served in the South African War with distinction. He was the son of William Henry Edgcumbe, 4th Earl of Mount Edgcumbe by his first wife, Lady Katherine Hamilton, fourth daughter of James Hamilton, 1st Duke of Abercorn and his wife, Lady Louisa Russell. Educated at Oxford University and a keen horseman, he was part of the varsity polo team playing against Cambridge in 1885–1887. He was appointed a captain in the 3rd (Militia) Battalion of The Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry on 23 March 1891. After the outbreak of the Boer War in 1899, he went to serve in South Africa. Piers Edgecumbe
Piers Edgecumbe ( 1609 – 6 January 1667) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1640 and 1644 and between 1662 and 1667. He supported the Royalist side in the English Civil War. Edgecumbe was the son of Sir Richard Edgecumbe and his wife Mary Cottle, daughter of Sir Thomas Cottle of London. In 1628 Edgecumbe was elected Member of Parliament for Newport until 1629 when King Charles I decided to rule without parliament. In April 1640, Edgecumbe was elected MP for Camelford in the Short Parliament and was returned again for the Long Parliament until he was disabled in January 1644. After the Restoration, Edgecumbe was appointed High Sheriff of Cornwall in 1660 and re-elected MP for Newport in 1662, holding the seat until his death in 1667. Piers Maxwell Dudley-Bateman (also known as Piers Bateman, 30 November 1947 – 4 September 2015) was an Australian landscape painter.
