Pierre Fournier (comics)
Pierre Fournier (8 December 1949 – 12 November 2022) was a Canadian comic book writer, artist, editor, promoter and publisher. He was best known for his ''Michel Risque'' and '' Red Ketchup'' series which he co-created with his long-time friend Réal Godbout. Biography Fournier's satirical superhero comic, ''Les Aventures du Capitaine Kébec'', debuted in 1973 and was important to the "Springtime of Comics" movement that saw a new generation of artists creating comic books in Québec. Fournier was involved as a writer/artist, editor, art director, publisher and a passionate promoter. In 1974, he organized Québecomics, the first exhibition of its kind, shown in New York, Eastern Canada and Europe. In 1975–76, Fournier produced and hosted a popular television series, ''Les Amis du Capitaine Kébec'', entirely devoted to comics. Martin Villeneuve
Martin Villeneuve () is a Canadian screenwriter, producer, director, actor, and art director. He was nominated at the Canadian Screen Award (formerly Genie Award) in 2013 for Best Adapted Screenplay, for '' Mars et Avril'', his feature film debut, and Quebec's first true science fiction movie. Villeneuve is the first TED speaker to come out of Quebec, and he has worked for Cirque du Soleil as an artistic director for commercials and films. Mira Falardeau
Mira Falardeau (born 1948) is a French Canadian historian, professor, and author of comic strips (French: ''bande dessinée'', BD). Falardeau has devoted works to Québec animated films, Québec comic strips and caricatures in Québec, focusing on visual humour in all its forms. She taught as a professor of cinema and communication at Laval University and the University of Ottawa. Falardeau has also curated exhibitions in the visual arts and operated a small publishing house. La Pastèque is a French Canadian publisher of comics, based in Montréal, Québec. Overview La Pastèque ("The Watermelon" in English) was founded by Martin Brault and Frédéric Gauthier in Montréal, Québec in July 1998, and their first publication, the first volume of ''Spoutnik'', appeared that December. The establishment publisher arose from talks between Brault and Gauthier about the state of comics in Québec around 1997. Things seemed pessimistic, and it seemed unlikely that the small market in the province could sustain itself. ''Red Ketchup'' is a Quebec comic book series featuring FBI's crazed rogue agent, Steve "Red" Ketchup. In 2023, Red Ketchup is the centerpiece of an animated series directed by Martin Villeneuve and produced by Sphere Animation. The character Steve "Red" Ketchup — an albino empowered by chemical means — is a former police officer, now FBI agent. The rondo is an instrumental musical form introduced in the Classical period. Etymology The English word ''rondo'' comes from the Italian form of the French ''rondeau'', which means "a little round".
