Terrebonne is a provincial electoral district in Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It consists of most but not all of the city of Terrebonne. It was created for the 1867 election (and an electoral district of that name existed earlier in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada and the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada). In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, it lost part of the city of Terrebonne to the L'Assomption electoral district. Mathieu Traversy is a Canadian politician in the province of Quebec. Since 2021, he has been the mayor of Terrebonne. Previously, he represented the riding of Terrebonne in the National Assembly of Quebec from the 2008 provincial election until his defeat in the 2018 provincial election. 2018 Quebec General Election
The 2018 Quebec general election was held on October 1, 2018, to elect members to the National Assembly of Quebec. The election saw a landslide victory for the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) led by François Legault, which won 74 of 125 seats, giving the party a majority and unseating the Quebec Liberal Party. The Liberals became the Official Opposition with 31 seats. This election was the first won by the CAQ, which had previously been the third party in the legislature. It was also the first since 1966 that had been won by a party other than the Liberals or Parti Québécois.
