Pierre Delsuc
Pierre Delsuc (September 13, 1902 – 1986) served as the General Commissioner of zone Nord from 1941 to 1944, International Commissioner of the Scouts et Guides de France from 1944 to 1946, as well as a member of the International Scout Committee from 1951. Background Delsuc practiced civil law as a lawyer. Delsuc began Scouting in the 5th arrondissement of Paris ''Groupe Saint-Louis''. In 1929, he succeeded Édouard de Macedo as leader of this group until 1945, though the group split into two in 1930. Antoine-Louis Cornette asked him to succeed Jacques Sevin at the Chamarande camp school. Mobilized in 1939, then demobilized in 1940, he took the lead of underground Scouting with François Bloch-Lainé and Michel de Paillerets, banned in the occupied zone. He entered the Resistance and was arrested several times by the Gestapo. Sent to prison, he was released for lack of evidence. Scouts Et Guides De France
Scouts et Guides de France (''Scouts and Guides of France'', SGdF) is the largest Scouting and Guiding association in France. It was formed on 1 September 2004 from the merger of two Roman Catholic Scouting organizations: the Guides de France (founded in 1923) and the Scouts de France (SdF, founded 25 July 1920). Through Scoutisme Français, SGdF is a member of both WOSM and WAGGGS. SGdF claims 61,181 youth members and 27,399 volunteers in 863 local groups. Michel Rigal
Michel Rigal ( Paris April 6, 1914 – August 11, 1978 in Flims, Switzerland) was General Commissioner of the Scouts de France from 1952 to 1970, a period of crises and reforms during which he endeavored to maintain the unity of the movement. In opposition to Rigal, Pierre Delsuc resigned from the National Council of the Scouts de France in 1958. The Scouts Unitaires de France (''Unitary Scouts of France'', SUF) is a French Catholic Scouting movement created in 1971. It is the third largest Scout movement in France. From 1964 to 1970 the Scouts de France prepared and experimented with a new pedagogy, splitting the Scout troops (''unités'') into two new sections and partly implementing coeducation. Until 1971 the old and the new pedagogies coexisted. In the 1970s the new pedagogy became compulsory. In 1971 around twenty local groups refused to conform and chose to stay with the former ''unitary'' pedagogy. These groups created the Scouts Unitaires de France, initially with around 1,000 members. Jean-Édouard-Lucien Rupp (13 October 1905 – 28 January 1983) was a French prelate of the Catholic Church who served as Bishop of Monaco from 1962 to 1971 and then worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See until he retired in 1980.
