Pierre-Yves Plat
Pierre-Yves Plat (born 1980 in Paris) is a French pianist who reinterprets classical masterpieces into jazz, ragtime, boogie, salsa and disco. Biography Pierre-Yves Plat started learning classical piano at the age of five with Marie-Claude Legrand. His personality and his innate sense of rhythm led him towards boogie-woogie, ragtime and stride, and then onto improvisation. He learnt with artists as diverse as Édouard Ferlet (Berklee Jazz Performance Award - 1992) and Fabrice Eulry, 'the Chopin of boogie'. It was at the instigation of Eulry that he recorded his first disk of ragtime and began to perform in concert. He has since played in many venues in Paris (L'Archipel, salle Cortot, etc.), Versailles (Bagheera Piano Bar, the Montansier theatre) and throughout France, regularly participating in Jazz and Blues festivals (the 'Petit Journal' of St. Michel and Montparnasse, Jazz Club, etc.). Édouard Ferlet
Édouard Ferlet is a pianist of the French jazz scene. Early years Ferlet began playing piano at the age of 7 and studied classical music at l’ École Normale de Musique de Paris, and later on at the Conservatoire regional. In the late eighties, he moved to Boston, US, and studied piano under renowned teachers: Herb Pomeroy, Hal Crook, Ed Tomassi, Ray Santisi, Ed Bedner. In 1992, he graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Jazz Composition and was awarded the Berklee jazz performance award. Career Back in France, he worked as a composer for a variety of TV programs and gained a sound experience in the field thanks to the diversity of the commissions he had to face. Four Seasons Hotel George V ( ) is a luxury hotel on avenue George V in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. History The Hotel George V, named for King George V of the United Kingdom, opened in 1928. It was financed, at a cost of $31 million (60 million Francs), by American businessman Joel Hillman. It was managed by restaurateur André Terrail, owner of La Tour d'Argent. Its architect was Georges Wybo, who had designed the Casino de Deauville and the reconstruction of the Printemps Haussmann following the fire of 1921. Jazz
