History Pierce was platted in 1871, and a courthouse was erected that same year. Like Pierce County, the name honors President Franklin Pierce. The city became a point of international interest in 2013 due to the ''Lambrecht auto auction'', at which nearly 500 classic cars were put up for sale. Willow Creek State Recreation Area (Nebraska)
Willow Creek State Recreation Area (SRA) is a state park in northeastern Nebraska, United States. The recreation area is located on the 700 acre Willow Creek Reservoir, approximately southwest of Pierce, or about northwest of Norfolk. The recreation area is managed by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. The area is popular for boating, fishing, camping, and swimming. The reservoir is stocked with crappie, bluegill, bass, catfish, walleye, and northern pike. There are 101 RV campsites with electrical hookups and an equestrian campground with 10 campsites. Norfolk ( or ) is a city in Madison County, Nebraska, United States, 113 miles northwest of Omaha and 83 miles west of Sioux City at the intersection of U.S. Routes 81 and 275.
