Pier-Philippe Chevigny (born 1988) is a Canadian film director and screenwriter from Quebec,Martin Gignac"Portrait du TIFF: Pier-Philippe Chevigny" ''Voir'', September 6, 2019. most noted for his 2019 short film ''Rebel (Recrue)''. Originally from Contrecœur, Quebec, he is a graduate of the film school at the Université de Montréal. He made a number of short films before breaking through with ''Rebel'', which premiered at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival. In 2021 he entered production on his feature debut, ''Richelieu''. The film was shown under the name ''Temporaries'' at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival. Contrecœur, Quebec
Contrecœur () is a city in southwestern Quebec, Canada on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River. The population as of the Canada 2021 Census was 9,480. Contrecœur is approximately northeast of Montreal and is accessible via Autoroute 30, the main road from the southwest, which continues on to Sorel-Tracy. History In 1672, Antoine Pécaudy de Contrecœur, a soldier of the Carignan-Salières Regiment, originally from Saint-Chef, Isère, France, was granted a seigneury by King Louis XIV.
