Piatykhatky, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Piatykhatky ( , ) is a small city and a large railway junction in Kamianske Raion, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast (province) of Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Piatykhatky urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: . Population in 2001 was 20,563. Until 18 July 2020, Piatykhatky was the administrative center of Piatykhatky Raion. The raion was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast to seven. The area of Piatykhatky Raion was merged into Kamianske Raion. The administrative divisions of Ukraine (Ukrainian: Адміністрати́вний у́стрій Украї́ни, tr. Raion
A raion (also spelt rayon) is a type of administrative unit of several post-Soviet states. The term is used for both a type of subnational entity and a division of a city. The word is from the French (meaning 'honeycomb, department'), and is commonly translated as "district" in English. A raion is a standardized administrative entity across most of the former Soviet Union and is usually a subdivision two steps below the national level, such as a subdivision of an oblast. Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast ( uk, Дніпропетро́вська о́бласть, translit=Dnipropetrovska oblast), also referred to as Dnipropetrovshchyna ( uk, Дніпропетро́вщина), is an administrative divisions of Ukraine, oblast (province) of central-eastern Ukraine, the most important industrial region of the country. Kamianske Raion ( uk, Кам'янський район) is a raion (district) of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Ukraine. It was created in July 2020 as part of the reform of administrative divisions of Ukraine. Three abolished raions, Krynychky, Piatykhatky, and Verkhnodniprovsk Raions, as well as Kamianske Municipality, Zhovti Vody Municipality, and the city of Vilnohirsk, which was previously incorporated as a city of oblast significance, were merged into Kamianske Raion.
