Photography Studies College, commonly abbreviated to PSC, is a privately owned independent tertiary photography college established in 1973, located in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. History 1973 founding Photography Studies College was first named the Gallery School of Photographic Art Advertisement, ''The Age'' Monday 09 Dec 1974, p.18 when it was founded by Roger Hayne at its present address in 1973, through his business Impact Photography Pty. Ltd., 203 Canterbury Road, St Kilda. Previously a publicity officer for the Victorian Railways he had later worked with the Australian Antarctic Division,. During the seventies he traveled and photographed around Australia, in Europe, Russia, Asia and the Arctic and, along with his photographs from the Antarctic, he exhibited that work in 'Lifestyles and Landscapes' at PSC over July 1980. An advertorial is an advertisement in the form of editorial content. The term "advertorial" is a blend (see portmanteau) of the words "advertisement" and "editorial." Merriam-Webster dates the origin of the word to 1946. In printed publications, the advertisement is usually written to resemble an objective article and designed to ostensibly look like a legitimate and independent news story. Martin Parr
Martin Parr (born 23 May 1952) is a British documentary photographer, photojournalist and photobook collector. He is known for his photographic projects that take an intimate, satirical and anthropological look at aspects of modern life, in particular documenting the social classes of England, and more broadly the wealth of the Western world. His major projects have been rural communities (1975–1982), ''The Last Resort'' (1983–1985), ''The Cost of Living'' (1987–1989), ''Small World'' (1987–1994) and ''Common Sense'' (1995–1999). Adi Nes
Adi Nes ( he, עדי נס; born 1966) is an Israeli photographer. Education * 1989-1992 Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem, photography Life and career Adi Nes was born in Kiryat Gat. His parents are Jewish immigrants from Iran. He is openly gay. Nes is notable for series "Soldiers", in which he mixes masculinity and homoerotic sexuality, depicting Israeli soldiers in a fragile way. In 2003 he did a feature for '' Vogue'' Hommes. Dayanita Singh
Dayanita Singh (born 18 March 1961) is an Indian photographer whose primary format is the book. She has published fourteen books. Singh's art reflects and expands on the ways in which people relate to photographic images. Her later works, drawn from her extensive photographic oeuvre, are a series of mobile museums allowing her images to be endlessly edited, sequenced, archived and displayed. Stemming from her interest in the archive, the museums present her photographs as interconnected bodies of work that are full of both poetic and narrative possibilities. Susan Bright is a British writer and curator of photography, specializing in how photography is made, disseminated and interpreted. Hoda Afshar
Hoda Afshar (born 1983) is an Iranian documentary photographer who is based in Melbourne. She is known for her 2018 prize-winning portrait of Kurdish-Iranian refugee Behrouz Boochani, who suffered a long imprisonment in the Manus Island detention centre run by the Australian government. Her work has been featured in many exhibitions and is held in many permanent collections across Australia. Early life, education and early career Afshar was born in Tehran, Iran, in 1983.
