Philippines National Volleyball Team In FIVB Club Tournaments
The Philippine National Volleyball Federation sent representative teams in the 2021 Asian Men's and Women's Club Volleyball Championships under the name of Rebisco and Choco Mucho, brands of its sponsor Republic Biscuit Corporation. The teams don't belong to a domestic league with its players derived from the pool of the Philippine men's and women's national teams. History PSL All Stars The Philippines under the previous national federation, Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas (LVP) has been represented by non-club teams in official FIVB and AVC tournaments. Republic Biscuit Corporation which owns the Rebisco brand has been supporting Philippine volleyball since 2017. The PSL All-Stars, a selection team from players of the Philippine Super Liga, was the country's representative at the 2016 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship in Metro Manila rather than a regular club side. 2021 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference
The 2021 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference was the tenth conference of the Premier Volleyball League (''37th conference of the former Shakey's V-League conference results, Shakey's V-League'') and its first conference as a professional league. The conference started on July 17, 2021 and ended on August 13, 2021, at the PCV Socio-Civic and Cultural Center in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte in a bubble. The PVL has been approved by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to begin team practices to be followed by the official start of the 2021 season. In January 2021, it was reported that Motolite Volleyball Team, Motolite filed a leave of absence from the league and released all of its players. Joshua Autajay Umandal (born March 8, 1998) is a Filipino volleyball player who last played for Bahraini club Bani Jamra and the Philippine national team. Career Early career Umandal attended the University of the East (UE) playing junior volleyball for the UE Warriors in the UAAP Volleyball Championship, UAAP. He was scouted as an elementary student by UE when the institution held a training camp at his school, the Barrio Obrero Elementary School in Maypajo, Manila. He moved to the University of Santo Tomas (UST), but he had to serve a year of residency in order to play for the UST Growling Tigers, Growling Tigers in the UAAP. PLDT Volleyball Club
The PLDT Home Fibr Hitters (formerly, PLDT Volleyball Club) is a professional men's volleyball team owned by PLDT. It was established in 2013 and originally consisted of men's and women's teams. In 2018, the women's team became merged with the Smart Giga Hitters (later renamed PLDT Home Fibr Hitters women's team). The men's team has been playing in the Spikers' Turf since October 2018. Ave Joshua Retamar (born March 7, 2002) is a Filipino volleyball player. He is currently playing as a setter for the NU Bulldogs in the UAAP men's volleyball tournaments. Career UAAP Retamar made his first game appearance with NU Bulldogs in the UAAP Season 82 volleyball tournaments. Later on, the tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, the tournament came back after 3 years of being the hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Retamar became the team captain of the NU Bulldogs.
