Mark Alfafara
Mark Gil Alfafara (born January 28, 1994) is a Filipino volleyball player. He played with UST Growling Tigers collegiate men's University team. Career Collegiate In UAAP Season 73, they got a 13–1 win-loss record in the preliminary round tied with FEU Tamaraws. They succeeded to advanced in the finals after defeating the La Salle Green Archers in the Semis. They won the championship title after beating the FEU Tamaraws in the Game 2 of best-of-three finals series. In UAAP Season 74, they got 11–3 win-loss record in the preliminary round. They won against Adamson Soaring Falcons in the Semis but they failed to get the championship title after being defeated by FEU Tamaraws in the Game 2 of best-of-three finals series. In UAAP Season 75, they failed to advanced in the Semis after being placed in 5th. Alfafara and Red Christensen of De La Salle Green Archers shared the Season's MVP on that year. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. 2017 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference
The Premier Volleyball League 1st Season Reinforced Open Conference was the first conference of the Premier Volleyball League (28th conference of the former Shakey's V-League). Conference started on April 30, 2017 and concluded on June 13, 2017. All elimination round games were played at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan while the semifinals and Finals games were held at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig. The women's tournament was supposed to feature the use of foreign reinforcements, however, they were initially unable to play due to difficulty in securing their international transfer certificates (ITC) from the FIVB. On May 17, 2017, Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. (LVPI) confirmed that the FIVB has approved the ITC requests for the imports. The imports began to play on May 18, 2017. The 2015 Spikers' Turf season was the inaugural season of the men's volleyball league Spikers' Turf, the counterpart of the women's Shakey's V-League. In 2014, the Shakey's V-League introduced a men's division during its 21st conference. The following year, Sports Vision, the organizers of the Shakey's V-League decided to spin-off the men's vision as a separate tournament, giving birth to the Spikers' Turf. UAAP Season 74 was the 2011–2012 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. It was hosted by Ateneo de Manila University. The men's basketball and the women's volleyball tournaments were aired by ABS-CBN Channel 2 and Studio 23 (the men's basketball games are simulcast over DZSR Sports Radio 918) for the twelfth consecutive year. The opening ceremony was held on July 9, 2011 at the Marikina Sports Center. The Spikers’ Turf Reinforced Open Conference was the 3rd conference of the Spikers' Turf that started on October 10, 2015 at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan. UAAP Season 77
UAAP Season 77 is the 2014–15 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). The season host is the University of the East with Carmelita Mateo as president. Eight universities are competing in fifteen sports to vie for the general championship. Each sporting event is hosted by a school. Some of these sporting events are aired live or on a delayed telecast by ABS-CBN Sports+Action and ABS-CBN Channel 2.
