The World Archery Philippines, Inc. is the national governing body for archery in the Philippines. It is used to be known as the Philippines and Philippine Archers' National Network and Alliance (PANNA). It is accredited by the World Archery Federation which is the governing body for the sport of archery in the world. Its former president was Federico Moreno, the only son of the late German Moreno and the father of 2014 Youth Olympic Games gold-medalist Luis Gabriel Moreno. World Archery Federation
The World Archery Federation (WA, also and formerly known as FITA from the French ''Fédération Internationale de Tir à l'Arc'') is the governing body of the sport of archery. It is based in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is composed of 156 national federations and other archery associations, and is recognised by the International Olympic Committee. History FITA was founded on 4 September 1931 in Lwow, Poland (today Lviv, Ukraine). Its seven founding member states were France, Czechoslovakia, Sweden, Poland, the United States, Hungary, and Italy. The aim of the organization was to create regular archery championships, and to return archery to the Olympic Games (the sport had not been featured since 1920). FITA was finally successful in returning archery to the Olympic program in the 1972 Summer Olympics. German Moreno
German Molina Moreno (; October 4, 1933 – January 8, 2016), also known as Kuya Germs ( or ) and dubbed as "The Master Showman", was a Filipino television host, presenter, actor, comedian, talent manager, producer, writer, and director. Early life Moreno was born to Jose Moreno y Calvo (Pepe), a Spanish Filipino mestizo, and Aurora Molina, a Filipina. He had one sister, Pilar Moreno Nite. His father died after an incident involving an American soldier. Moreno first worked for an aunt's taxi company and also sold ''bibingka'', peanuts, and cigarettes. He also became a jeepney barker. Career Early career Moreno became involved in the entertainment industry working as a janitor and ''telonero'' (curtain raiser) of Clover Theater in 1957. Luis Gabriel Magdayao Moreno (born 28 May 1998) is a Filipino archer later actor who competed for the Philippines at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics. Competing with Li Jiaman of China, Moreno is the first representative of the Philippines to clinch a gold medal for a Mixed-NOC team in the Summer Youth Olympics. Career Early years Moreno picked up archery when he was six years old. He later went on to compete in the 2013 Palarong Pambansa in Dumaguete. He clinched 5 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze in his debut at the national student-athlete competition. Summer Youth Olympics Moreno represented the Philippines at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in China also serving as the flag bearer for his country in the parade of nations.
