Philippidès Stadium
The Philippidès Stadium is the main athletics stadium of the City of Montpellier, France. It belongs to the University of Montpellier and is primarily used as a place of education for the UFR STAPS. The management of the stadium is done, by convention, (under the form of AOT), to the university for educational use during week days and then by the city of Montpellier for nights and weekends, during which the town organises maintenance, caretaking, the opening of athletic clubs, and also access to the public. A multisport competition is a family of athletic competitions in which athletes race in a continuous series of stages or "legs", and rapidly switch from one athletic discipline to another in order to achieve the best overall time. All-weather Running Track
An all-weather running track is a rubberized, artificial running surface for track and field athletics. It provides a consistent surface for competitors to test their athletic ability unencumbered by adverse weather conditions. Historically, various forms of dirt, Rocks, sand, and crushed cinders were used. Many examples of these varieties of track still exist worldwide. Surfaces Starting in the late 1950s, artificial surfaces using a combination of rubber and asphalt began to appear.
