Petrol Girls
Petrol Girls is an English punk rock band formed in London in 2012 by Ren Aldridge and Liepa Kuraitė, with Joe York and Zock Astpai joining later. The band is named after the historical Pétroleuses and is outspokenly feminist. They have released three albums on independent labels. They have received media coverage from The Independent, Kerrang!, NPR and Vice Media History Petrol Girls formed and played their first show in 2012, after just two practises, at a house party hosted by founding member Ren Aldridge (vocals) to celebrate International Women’s Day. Retaining original bassist Liepa Kuraitė, who had never played before Aldridge invited her to join, they eventually recruited Joe York (guitar) and Zock Astpai (drums) to complete a sustainable lineup. Jonathan "Jonny" Fox, better known simply by his stage name Itch, is an English rapper. Fox is the lead vocalist of The King Blues, previously performing briefly as a solo musician during the band's absence. Early life Jonathan Fox was born and grew up in South London, England. His mother is from Malaysia. At the age of 13, he was homeless and sold copies of ''The Big Issue'' to make some money. Personal Best are an English punk band from Bristol. Founded by songwriter Robin Gatt in 2013, they have had several lineup changes in the time since. They have currently released two full-length albums; ''Arnos Vale'' (2015) and ''What You At'' (2019). History Personal Best was founded by Robin Gatt as a vehicle for her songwriting in Bristol in 2013. The original lineup included Tom Hussey (also of the band Attack! Vipers!) on bass and Lou Hanman (also of the band Caves) on drums. This trio recorded the debut EP released on Specialist Subject Records in 2014. On 30 March 2015, they released their debut album ''Arnos Vale'', recorded with producer and engineer Gethin Pearson in mid-Wales. Dream Nails is an English DIY punk/ riot grrrl band from London founded in 2015. The group identify themselves as “''punk witches''” and are known for their riotous live shows that mix storming punk guitar with sweet three-part harmonies. Biography Dream Nails was founded in London in August 2015 by Janey Starling, singer, and Anya Pearson, guitarist. The two friends met through their involvement with feminist activism and brought fellow activist Emmett Roberts on board to play bass and Judith Dawson on drums. In early 2016, Lucy Katz replaced Judith on drums. Within one year of performing together they were invited to perform at Glastonbury's Sisterhood stage – the first women-only venue at the festival. In 2017, Katherine Christie Evans briefly replaced Roberts on bass and backing vocals, replaced in turn by Mimi Jasson.
