Peter Vilfan
Peter Vilfan (born 29 June 1957) is a Slovenian former professional basketball player, sports journalist, commentator, and a politician. He resigned from the National Assembly due to DUI in 2014, and from the State Secretary position in 2019 amid tax evasion proceedings. As a basketball player, he was a member of the senior Yugoslavia national team, with which he won a gold medal at the 1978 FIBA World Championship, in Manila. He was inducted into the Slovenian Athletes Hall of Fame, in 2013. Basketball club career During his club basketball playing career, Vilfan played with Maribor, Jugoplastika, Olimpija, and Partizan. Maribor
Maribor ( , , , ; also known by other #Name, historical names) is the second-largest city in Slovenia and the largest city of the traditional region of Styria (Slovenia), Lower Styria. The 1979 FIBA European Championship, commonly called FIBA EuroBasket 1979, was the 21st FIBA EuroBasket regional basketball championship, held by FIBA Europe. Gold Medal
A gold medal is a medal awarded for highest achievement in a non-military field. Its name derives from the use of at least a fraction of gold in form of plating or alloying in its manufacture. Since the eighteenth century, gold medals have been awarded in the arts, for example, by the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, usually as a symbol of an award to give an outstanding student some financial freedom. Yugoslavia National Basketball Team

The National Assembly ( sl, Državni zbor Republike Slovenije, or ), is the general representative body of Slovenia. Yugoslavia Men's National Under-16 Basketball Team
The Yugoslavia men's national under-16 basketball team ( sh, Kadetska košarkaška reprezentacija Jugoslavije) was the boys' basketball team, administered by Basketball Federation of Yugoslavia, that represented SFR Yugoslavia in international under-16 (under age 16) men's basketball competitions, consisted mainly of the European Championship for Cadets, nowadays known as the FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship. After the dissolution of SFR Yugoslavia in 1991, the successor countries all set up their own national under-16 teams.
