Peter Van Der Heyden
Peter Van der Heyden (born 16 July 1976) is a Belgian former professional footballer who played as a left-back. Club career Van der Heyden was born in Aalst, East Flanders. His former clubs include F.C. Denderleeuw, Eendracht Aalst, VfL Wolfsburg and 1. FSV Mainz 05. On 21 January 2010, the Belgian Jupiler Pro League outfit Club Brugge signed him until 2011, it is his second spell at the club after previously being a squad member between 2000 and 2005. International career Van der Heyden played 21 times with Belgium and was in the team for the 2002 World Cup. He scored Belgium's second goal in their opening match, a 2–2 draw with Japan in Saitama. Aalst, Belgium
Aalst (; french: Alost, ; Brabantian: ''Oilsjt'') is a city and municipality on the Dender River, northwest from Brussels in the Flemish province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the city of Aalst itself and the villages of Baardegem, Erembodegem, Gijzegem, Herdersem, Hofstade, Meldert, Moorsel and Nieuwerkerken. Aalst is crossed by the Molenbeek-Ter Erpenbeek in Aalst and Hofstade. The current mayor of Aalst is Christoph D'Haese, from the New-Flemish Alliance party. The 2004-05 season of the Belgian First Division began on August 6, 2004 and ended on May 23, 2005. Club Brugge became champions on May 15, 2005 after a decisive game against long-time rivals Anderlecht. Trophy Jules Pappaert or Pappaert cup is a Belgian football trophy since 1953 and is awarded annually to a club in the first, second or third division of the Belgian Pro League with the longest uninterrupted series of unbeaten games. Bruges Matins (football)
The Bruges Matins (Dutch: ''Brugse Metten'', French: ''Matines Brugeoises'') is a yearly friendly tournament organised by the Belgian football club Club Brugge KV. The name of the tournament refers to the nocturnal massacre in Bruges in 1302, which is called the Bruges Matins. The tournament was first organised in 1976 as a four-team competition. However, since 1991, with the exception of 1992, it was reduced to just a one-match tournament between Club Brugge and another team. Normally, teams from abroad are invited, but sometimes other Belgian teams take part. On two occasions, a national team was present, namely Senegal in 1985 and Morocco in 1987. In case Club Brugge play in the Belgian Super Cup, the match won't be organised that season. The 2004 Belgian Supercup was a football match between the winners of the previous season's Belgian First Division and Belgian Cup competitions. The match was contested by Cup winners Club Brugge, and 2004–05 Belgian First Division champions, Anderlecht on 22 December 2004 at the ground of the league champions as usual, in this case the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium. Club Brugge won its twelfth supercup in total, as it beat Anderlecht 2-0 through goals by Sebastian Hermans and Rune Lange. The 2003 Belgian Supercup was a football match between the winners of the previous season's Belgian First Division and Belgian Cup competitions. The match was contested by Cup winners La Louvière, and 2002–03 Belgian First Division champions, Club Brugge on 2 August 2003 at the ground of the league champions as usual, in this case the Jan Breydel Stadium. La Louvière took an early lead through Vervalle, with Nastja Čeh providing the equalizer just before the hour mark.
