Peter Sansom

	Peter Sansom Peter Sansom (born 1958) is a British poet. Biography Sansom was born in 1958 in Nottinghamshire. For ten years Peter taught the MA Poetry at Huddersfield University before becoming a Fellow in Creative Writing at Leeds University. He is currently Company Poet with Prudential. He is also a director with Ann Sansom of the Poetry Business in Sheffield, where they edit ''The North'' magazine and Smith/Doorstop Books. Sansom's book, ''Writing Poems'', is published by Bloodaxe (1994). Carcanet Press publish his five poetry collections: ''Everything You’ve Heard is True'', a Poetry Book Society Recommendation (1990), ''January'' (1994), for which he received an Arts Council Writer's Bursary and an award from the Society of Authors, ''Point of Sale'' (2000) and ''The Last Place on Earth'' (2006). 	Ann Sansom Ann Sansom is a British poet and writing tutor. She has written two full length collections of poetry (both published by Bloodaxe Books) and her work has appeared in anthologies, newspapers and magazines around the world. She is currently a regular tutor for the Workers' Educational Association, Poetry Society and Arvon Foundation; and has taught at Sheffield Hallam University, University of Leeds, University of Exeter and University of Oxford. As well as giving hundreds of readings and workshops in the UK over the last two decades, Ann has also read and taught in India, Finland and Greece. 	Bloodaxe Books Bloodaxe Books is a British publishing house specializing in poetry. History Bloodaxe Books was founded in 1978 in Newcastle upon Tyne by Neil Astley, who is still editor and managing director. Bloodaxe moved its editorial office to Northumberland and its finance office to Bala, North Wales, in 1997. 	Carcanet Press Carcanet Press is a publisher, primarily of poetry, based in the United Kingdom and founded in 1969 by Michael Schmidt. In 2000 it was named the '' Sunday Times'' millennium Small Publisher of the Year. History ''Carcanet'' was originally a literary magazine, founded in 1962. Michael Hind, a member of the original editorial board, recalls how the idea was to 'collect together and publish as a periodical poetry, short fiction, and "intelligent criticism of all the arts"; there were to be both student and senior members' contributions.' The intention was to link Oxford and Cambridge universities.
