Peter Rogers (businessman)
Peter Lloyd Rogers CBE (29 December 1947 – 28 January 2020) was a British businessman, who was chief executive of Babcock International Group plc, a British multinational support services company specialising in managing complex assets and infrastructure in safety- and mission-critical environments. He was previously employed by Ford Motor Company and was also an executive director of Courtaulds and deputy chief executive of Acordis. Early life Rogers was educated at Wymondham College, Norfolk, and graduated from the University of Manchester in 1969 with a law degree. He gained ACA and FCA accountancy qualifications in the 1970s. Career Rogers was the chief executive of Babcock International from 1 August 2003 until he retired in August 2016. He was succeeded as CEO by Archie Bethel, chief executive of Babcock's marine & technology division. Babcock International Group plc is a British aerospace, defence and nuclear engineering services company based in London, England. It specialises in managing complex assets and infrastructure. Although the company has civil contracts, its main business is with public bodies, particularly the United Kingdom's Ministry of Defence and Network Rail. The company has four operating sectors, with overseas operations based in Africa, North America, South America, Europe and Australia. Babcock is listed on the London Stock Exchange, and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index. Gordon Muir Campbell, (born January 12, 1948) is a retired Canadian diplomat and politician who was the 35th mayor of Vancouver from 1986 to 1993 and the 34th premier of British Columbia from 2001 to 2011. He was the leader of the British Columbia Liberal Party from 1993 to 2011. From 2011 to 2016, he served as Canadian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Canada's representative to the Ismaili Imamat from 2014 to 2016. Archibald Anderson Bethel (born February 1953) is a British businessman. He is CEO of Babcock International, and a main board director. He is president of the Society of Maritime Industries (SMI), and vice-president and treasurer of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in Great Britain. He is a lay member of the Court of the University of Strathclyde. Bethel is the former president of Scottish Engineering, and former CEO of the Lanarkshire Development Agency. Order Of The British Empire
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service. It was established on 4 June 1917 by King George V and comprises five classes across both civil and military divisions, the most senior two of which make the recipient either a knight if male or dame if female. Reuters ( ) is a news agency owned by Thomson Reuters Corporation. It employs around 2,500 journalists and 600 photojournalists in about 200 locations worldwide. Reuters is one of the largest news agencies in the world. The agency was established in London in 1851 by the German-born Paul Reuter.
