Peter Milton (politician)
Peter Milton (22 September 1928 – 8 August 2009) was an Australian politician. Born in London, England, he was educated at the University of Melbourne and served in the military from 1946 to 1949. On his return, he was assistant registrar at the University of Melbourne. The Division of La Trobe is an Australian Electoral Division in the state of Victoria. It is located in the outer eastern/south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. It includes the suburbs of Berwick, Beaconsfield, Officer and Pakenham, and the towns of Gembrook, Emerald and Cockatoo. A registrar is a senior administrative executive within an academic institution (consisting of a college, university, or secondary school) who oversees the management and leadership of the Registrar's Office. General duties and function Typically, a registrar processes registration requests, schedules classes and maintains class lists, enforces the rules for entering or leaving classes, and keeps a permanent record of grades and marks. In institutions with selective admission requirements, a student only begins to be in connection with the registrar's official actions after admission. In the United Kingdom, the term registrar is usually used for the head of the university's administration. Marshall Baillieu
Ian Marshall Baillieu (born 6 June 1937) is a former Australian politician. He is a prominent member of the wealthy Baillieu family of Melbourne and until 2013 chaired the family investment company. He served in the House of Representatives from 1975 to 1980, representing the Victorian seat of La Trobe for the Liberal Party. Early life Baillieu was born in Melbourne on 6 June 1937, the son of Nancy Elizabeth "Betty" () and Marshal Lawrence "Bill" Baillieu. His father was the nephew of entrepreneur William Lawrence Baillieu. An article in ''The Canberra Times'' prior to his election to parliament described him as "a Beaconsfield market gardener and agricultural engineer".
