Peter Lloyd (illustrator)
Peter Lloyd (1944–2009) was a freelance illustrator specializing in advertising and digital artwork. Lloyd was born in England in 1944, but moved to the United States in 1959, where he was the youngest student to graduate from the Art Center College of Design with a master's degree. Lloyd provided art to several large advertising clients in the 1960s, including National Geographic and the National Football League. He also illustrated for magazines such as Playboy and Esquire. He procured several berths in the feature film industry during the late 1970s and 1980s, including a job doing conceptual work for Walt Disney Productions in 1982; most notably, Lloyd worked on creating and refining digital effects for the 1982 film ''Tron''. Lloyd has since worked with many other motion picture clients such as Paramount Pictures, often as a conceptual or storyboard artist. ''Freelance'' (sometimes spelled ''free-lance'' or ''free lance''), ''freelancer'', or ''freelance worker'', are terms commonly used for a person who is self-employed and not necessarily committed to a particular employer long-term. ''500 Nations'' is an eight-part American documentary television series that was aired on CBS in 1995 about the Indigenous peoples of the Americas, Native Americans of North America, North and Central America. Fantasy Artists
Fantastic art is a broad and loosely defined art genre. It is not restricted to a specific school of artists, geographical location or historical period. It can be characterised by subject matter – which portrays non-realistic, mystical, mythical or folkloric subjects or events – and style, which is representational and naturalistic, rather than abstract – or in the case of magazine illustrations and similar, in the style of graphic novel art such as manga. Cosmic Voyage (1996 Film)
''Cosmic Voyage'' is a 1996 short documentary film produced in the IMAX format, directed by Bayley Silleck, produced by Jeffrey Marvin, and narrated by Morgan Freeman. The film was presented by the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum, and played in IMAX theaters worldwide. The film is available in the DVD format. Synopsis ''Cosmic Voyage'' has a format similar to Eva Szasz's '' Cosmic Zoom'', and Charles and Ray Eames's classic '' Powers of Ten'' educational video. All were based on the 1957 book '' Cosmic View'' by Dutch educator Kees Boeke. ''Cosmic Voyage'' takes viewers on a journey through forty-two orders of magnitude, beginning at a celebration in Venice, Italy and slowly zooming out into the edge of the observable universe.
