Peter Grant (singer)
Peter Grant (born 1987 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England) is an English singer of easy listening and jazz music. Life and career Peter Grant began singing at the age of six and played at working men's clubs from the age of 12. He grew up in Guiseley, north-west of Leeds, West Yorkshire, and was a pupil at Guiseley High School. His first album ''New Vintage'' was released in April 2006, and entered at No. 8 on the UK Albums Chart, largely thanks to his chat show appearances with Michael Parkinson, Davina McCall and GMTV, where he made his TV debut. His second album ''Traditional'' was released on 17 September 2007. He can also be heard singing " Happy Together" on a Twix advertisement, a cover of the Turtles song. He released his download-only single "Traditional" on 10 September 2007. Promotion of his second UK album saw Grant perform on GMTV, '' This Morning'' and ''The Alan Titchmarsh Show'' all on ITV1. Leeds
Leeds () is a city and the administrative centre of the City of Leeds district in West Yorkshire, England. It is built around the River Aire and is in the eastern foothills of the Pennines. ''This Morning'' is a British daytime magazine programme that is broadcast on ITV1. It debuted on 3 October, 1988 and is broadcast live every weekday from 10:00am to 12:30pm across the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club
Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club is a jazz club that has operated in Soho, London, since 1959. History The club opened on 30 October 1959 in a basement at 39 Gerrard Street in London's Soho district. It was set up and managed by musicians Ronnie Scott and Pete King. In 1965 it moved to a larger venue nearby at 47 Frith Street. The original venue continued in operation as the "Old Place" until the lease ran out in 1967, and was used for performances by the up-and-coming generation of musicians. Zoot Sims was the club's first transatlantic visitor in 1962, and was succeeded by many others (often saxophonists whom Scott and King, tenor saxophonists themselves, admired, such as Johnny Griffin, Lee Konitz, Sonny Rollins and Sonny Stitt) in the years that followed. Many UK jazz musicians were also regularly featured, including Tubby Hayes and Dick Morrissey who would both drop in for jam sessions with the visiting stars. ''The Alan Titchmarsh Show'' is a British daytime chat show presented by Alan Titchmarsh. It was first broadcast on ITV on 3 September 2007 until 14 November 2014 and aired on weekday afternoons. The show's main focus is the "Best of British" theme with many of the shows' segments focusing on fashion, health, nature, cookery and animals. On 18 March 2014, Titchmarsh announced that he was leaving the show. The last episode aired on 14 November 2014. Format The programme made its debut on ITV in 2007. It focused on the theme of "The Best of British" focusing on food, entertainment and celebrities in a mid-afternoon slot.
