Peter Dunfield
Peter Dunfield (c. 1931 – May 25, 2014) was a Canadian figure skater and coach. He competed in four skating, winning the 1949 North American silver medal, and single skating. He is best known for coaching Elizabeth Manley to the 1988 Olympic silver medal. Career Dunfield competed in four skating with partners Mary Kenner, Peter Firstbrook, and Vera Smith. The group won the silver medal at the 1949 North American Championships. As a single skater, Dunfield won the Canadian national junior title in 1951 and bronze on the senior level in 1952 and 1953. He was sent to the 1953 World Championships in Davos, Switzerland and the 1954 World Championships in Oslo, Norway, placing eighth both times. From the early 1960s, Dunfield coached with his wife in New York City at the Sky Rink. When the rink closed around 1983, they moved to the Gloucester Skating Club in Orleans, Ontario. Vera Wang
Vera Ellen Wang (; born June 27, 1949) is an American fashion designer. Early life Vera Ellen Wang was born June 27, 1949 in New York City to Chinese parents who emigrated to the United States in the mid-1940s. Her mother, Florence Wu (Wu Chifang), worked as a translator for the United Nations, while her father, Cheng Ching Wang (Wang Chengqing), a graduate of Yanjing University and MIT, owned a medicine company. Wang has one brother, Kenneth. Wang began figure skating at the age of eight, training under Peter Dunfield and Sonya Klopfer in Denver during the summers and with the Skating Club of New York during the rest of the year. Angela Derochie
Angela Derochie (born November 4, 1973) is a Canadian former competitive figure skater. She is the 1992 Nebelhorn Trophy bronze medalist and 1998 Canadian national champion in ladies' singles. Personal life Derochie was born on November 4, 1973, in Trenton, Ontario. Career Derochie represented the Gloucester Skating Club in Ottawa, Ontario, and trained at the Canadian Academy of Skating Arts, coached by Peter Dunfield. In the 1996–97 season, Derochie reached her first senior national podium, winning the silver medal behind Susan Humphreys at the 1997 Canadian Championships. Scott Allen (figure Skater)
Scott Ethan "Scotty" Allen (born February 8, 1949) is a retired American figure skater. He is the 1964 Olympic bronze medalist, the 1965 world silver medalist, and the 1964 and 1966 U.S. national champion. The son of Swedish figure skating champion Sonja Fuhrman, Allen made his national debut at the age of nine, winning the silver medal in the novice division at the 1959 U.S. Championships. At that time he was the youngest competitor ever to skate in the Championships. He won the bronze medal at the 1964 Winter Olympics two days before his 15th birthday, becoming the youngest medalist at the Winter Olympics. Ronald Joseph (born October 9, 1944) is an American former pair skater who competed with his sister, Vivian Joseph. They are the 1964 Olympic bronze medalists, 1965 World silver medalists, and 1965 North American champions. Mark William Militano (born March 28, 1954 in Rockville Centre, New York) is an American pair skater. With sister Melissa Militano, he is the 1973 U.S. national champion. They represented the United States at the 1972 Winter Olympics where they placed 7th. Militano began skating seriously by the age of 7. Two years later, he formed a pair with his sister Melissa. Melissa Militano
Melissa Mary Militano (married name: Warkmeister; born April 26, 1955 in Rockville Centre, New York) is an American former competitive figure skater who competed as a single skater and pair skater. As a pair skater, she won the U.S. Figure Skating Championships three times, in 1973 with her brother Mark Militano and in 1974 and 1975 with Johnny Johns. Their coaches included Peter Dunfield and Ron Ludington. Melissa and Mark Militano represented the United States at the 1972 Winter Olympics where they placed 7th. Militano was also a talented singles skater. Charlene Wong
Charlene Wong (born March 4, 1966) is a Canadian former competitive figure skater. She is the 1981 NHK Trophy bronze medalist and competed at the 1988 Winter Olympics. She currently works as a figure skating coach. Personal life Charlene Wong was born on March 4, 1966, in Montreal. She has two older siblings, a brother and sister.
