Peter Brady (politician)
Peter Brady was a Democratic politician in the U.S. State of Ohio and was Ohio State Treasurer from 1884–1886. Peter Brady was born in Norwalk, Ohio, and came to Bellevue, Ohio when he was 19. He was in the hardware business there for 35 years, was one of the organizers of the Bellevue Industrial Savings and Loan Association, and operated the Bourdette Hotel for two years. Upton 1910 : 743 Brady was a member of Bellevue City Council, and was elected Mayor four times. He was elected to represent Sandusky County in the Ohio House of Representatives in 1882 and 1883 at the 65th General Assembly. In 1883, he was nominated by the Democrats for Ohio State Treasurer, and defeated Republican John C. Brown. He served a two-year term from January 1884 to January 1886. Ruairí Ó Brádaigh (; born Peter Roger Casement Brady; 2 October 1932 – 5 June 2013) was an Irish republican political and military leader. He was Chief of Staff of the Irish Republican Army (IRA) from 1958 to 1959 and again from 1960 to 1962, president of Sinn Féin from 1970 to 1983, and president of Republican Sinn Féin from 1987 to 2009. Early life Ó Brádaigh, born Peter Roger Casement Brady, was born into a middle-class republican family in Longford that lived in a duplex home on Battery Road. His father, Matt Brady, was an IRA volunteer who was severely wounded in an encounter with the Royal Irish Constabulary in 1919. Peter Rainsford Brady (August 4, 1825 – May 2, 1902) was an American military officer, surveyor and politician. Following a short service in the United States Navy he joined the Texas Rangers, where he served during the Mexican–American War and along the western frontier. From Texas he moved westward where he became an early settler and political office holder in Arizona Territory. Background Brady was born to Peter and Ann (Rainsford) Brady on August 4, 1825, in the Georgetown section of Washington, D.C. The dates given for Brady's stay at the Naval Academy, 1844–1846, and the date of his company in the Texas Rangers, 1847, though at variance with some sources, appear to be most credible. His mother was a Londoner. She married a citizen of Georgetown at age 21. Besides Peter they had two daughters, Margaret Ann and Mary Ellen. Derek Keating (16 May 1955 – 6 May 2023) was an Irish Fine Gael politician who served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Dublin Mid-West constituency from 2011 to 2016. He had also served as a local councillor for Lucan in the South Dublin County Council. Pete Brady (born 1941) is a Canadian radio presenter, television presenter and company director who has worked in the United Kingdom for over 50 years. He was one of the original lineup of disc jockeys on the pirate radio station Radio London as well as BBC Radio 1 and was one of the original presenters of ''Magpie''. He retired early from broadcasting to set up Clearwater Communications, a group of companies specialising in the production of major corporate events around the world. He was diagnosed with tongue and kidney cancer in 2015 and is now concentrating on helping others who have been diagnosed and treated for Head and Neck cancers. Brady was born in Montreal and was heavily involved in radio during his teen years. He first joined Radio Jamaica as a stand-in presenter. ''The Invisible Man'' (later known as ''H.G. Wells' Invisible Man'') is a British black-and-white science fiction television series that aired on ITV from September 1958 to July 1959. It was aired on CBS in the United States, running two seasons and totalling 26 half-hour episodes. The series was nominally based on the 1897 novel by H. G. Wells, one of four such television series. In this version, the deviation from the novel went as far as changing the main character's name from Dr. Griffin to Dr. Peter Brady who remained a sane man, not a power-hungry lunatic as in the book or the 1933 film adaptation.
