''Spider-Man: Far From Home'' is a 2019 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, co-produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. It is the sequel to '' Spider-Man: Homecoming'' (2017) and the 23rd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Jonathan Watts (born June 28, 1981) is an American filmmaker. His credits include directing the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) superhero films '' Spider-Man: Homecoming'', '' Spider-Man: Far From Home'', and '' Spider-Man: No Way Home''. He was additionally signed to direct the upcoming Marvel Studios-produced ''Fantastic Four'' film only to exit the project in April 2022. Homecoming is the tradition of welcoming back former students and members and celebrating an organization's existence.
