Pete Drummond (drummer)
Pete Drummond is an Australian session drummer, composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and educator who has developed a digital platform for drum lessons. Since 2006, Drummond has been associated with New Zealand band Dragon. He is known for his soundtrack work on The Killing Season (ABC), Living Universe (feature film); Search For Second Earth (ABC/BBC), and for his live solo performances alongside Virgil Donati, Thomas Lang, Mike Mangini, Dave Weckl, and many others. Thomas Lang stated in Modern Drummer Magazine: “Pete Drummond is an amazing Australian drummer”. Early life Drummond began drumming at three years of age. He started his formal training two years later with his mentor Jess Zappia. He later continued on his own, learning from recordings, instructional books, and videos. Jazz Fusion
Jazz fusion (also known as fusion and progressive jazz) is a music genre that developed in the late 1960s when musicians combined jazz harmony and improvisation with rock music, funk, and rhythm and blues. Electric guitars, amplifiers, and keyboards that were popular in rock and roll started to be used by jazz musicians, particularly those who had grown up listening to rock and roll. Jazz fusion arrangements vary in complexity. Some employ groove-based vamps fixed to a single key or a single chord with a simple, repeated melody. Others use elaborate chord progressions, unconventional time signatures, or melodies with counter-melodies. These arrangements, whether simple or complex, typically include improvised sections that can vary in length, much like in other forms of jazz. Thirsty Merc
Thirsty Merc are an Australian pop rock band formed in 2002 by Rai Thistlethwayte, Phil Stack (bass guitar), Karl Robertson (drums), and Matthew Baker (guitar). In 2004, Baker was replaced by Sean Carey, who was, in turn, replaced by Matt Smith in 2010. Thirsty Merc have released one extended play, '' First Work'' (September 2003), and five studio albums: '' Thirsty Merc'' (August 2004), '' Slideshows'' (April 2007), ''Mousetrap Heart'' (June 2010), ''Shifting Gears'' (September 2015), and ''Celebration'' (June 2022). ''Spirit of the Anzacs'' is the thirteenth studio album by Australian country singer Lee Kernaghan. It was released digitally and physically in Australia on March 13, 2015, through ABC Music. A limited deluxe edition features four additional tracks plus a 64-page booklet that includes many of the letters, stories and images behind the songs. It is Kernaghan's first number one album in Australia and has been certified Platinum by ARIA. Background 2015 marks the 100th anniversary of the ANZAC's landing of Australian and New Zealand soldiers at Gallipoli during World War I. Lee Kernaghan OAM (born 15 April 1964) is an Australian country music singer, songwriter and guitarist. Kernaghan has won four ARIA Awards and three APRA Awards, and has sold over two million albums, and as of 2021, has won 38 Golden Guitars at the Country Music Awards of Australia (second to Slim Dusty). Jeremy Barnes (born September 18, 1976) is an American musician. He plays accordion, percussion and other instruments. He has been a member of the bands Neutral Milk Hotel, Beirut, and A Hawk and a Hacksaw, and is a co-creator of the record label L.M. Duplication. Influences on his work include music from Eastern Europe, Turkey, and the Caucasus. Career Barnes was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the son of a local businessman. In 1995 he moved to Chicago to attend DePaul University but left his studies in January 1996, aged 19. He joined Neutral Milk Hotel, which was a part of the Athens, Georgia-based Elephant 6 music collective.
