Petar Čulić
Petar Čulić (born June 26, 1986 in Split, Croatia) is a classical guitarist. He finished his master's degree at the Split music Academy in the class of prof. Goran Listeš, and continued to study at the Koblenz Guitar Academy with Hubert Käppel. He won 23 first prizes on national and international competitions and had more than 1000 performances all around the world. He plays the Concierto de Aranjuez The ''Concierto de Aranjuez'' (, "Aranjuez Concerto") is a classical guitar concerto by the Spanish composer Joaquín Rodrigo. Classical Guitar
The classical guitar (also known as the nylon-string guitar or Spanish guitar) is a member of the guitar family used in classical music and other styles. An acoustic wooden string instrument with strings made of gut or nylon, it is a precursor of the modern acoustic and electric guitars, both of which use metal strings. Classical guitars derive from the Spanish vihuela and gittern of the fifteenth and sixteenth century. The ''Concierto de Aranjuez'' (, "Aranjuez Concerto") is a classical guitar concerto by the Spanish composer Joaquín Rodrigo. Written in 1939, it is by far Rodrigo's best-known work, and its success established his reputation as one of the most significant Spanish composers of the 20th century. Inspiration and history The ''Concierto de Aranjuez'' was inspired by the gardens at the Royal Palace of Aranjuez, the spring resort palace and gardens built by Philip II in the last half of the 16th century and rebuilt in the middle of the 18th century by Ferdinand VI. The work attempts to transport the listener to another place and time through the evocation of the sounds of nature. Colette Mourey
Colette Mourey (born 1954) is a French classical guitarist, music educator, musicologist and composer. Biography Born in Kenitra (Marocco), Mourey studied musicology at the Sorbonne under Edith Weber and passed the agrégation. First a classical guitarist and student of Uruguayan guitarist Oscar Cacères, she is also a pianist. As a teacher, she teaches writing, aesthetics and music didactics at the Université de Franche-Comté and the . She is also involved with the "Passeurs d'Art" association for the creation of free children's orchestras. For her research, she starts from works on the atonal music of her teacher Julien Falk to develop a new musical system called "hypertonality". This is based on spiral scales (in amplitudes higher than the octave), radically transforming atonal counterpoint techniques.
