It is a popular tourist destination situated in Vechoochira Panchayat of Ranni taluk. The one shore of this waterfall is Kudamurutty and Vechoochira is the other. The main route to this waterfall starts from Ranni - Athikkayam - Kudamurutty - Perunthenaruvi. Perunthenaruvi Project
Perunthenaruvi Project is a tourism and hydroelectric power project at Perunthenaruvi near Vechoochira in Ranni, Kerala, India. The Kerala Tourism Development Corporation has launched the Perunthenaruvi tourism project as part of the eco-tourism chain linking Achankovil, Gavi, Konni and Ranni. In 22 October 2017, the Chief Minister of Kerala launched the 6- MW hydroelectric power project by Kerala State Electricity Board in Perunthenaruvi. It is the smallest hydroelectric power project in the Pamba River. Vechoochira is a village located in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala, India.Nearest Railway Station is Thiruvalla,Located At A Distance Of 45km Location Vechoochira is about to from Erumely, a Hindu pilgrimage centre, and to from Ranni. History From 1900-1920, missionaries from England established a farm area near Vechoochira, known as Mission Kunnu. When the English missionaries departed, the land was given to local people. Many families from the Tiruvalla-Vennikulam area migrated to Vechoochira and bought land properties from the locals. Pathanamthitta District (), is one of the 14 districts in the Indian state of Kerala. The district headquarters is in the town of Pathanamthitta. There are four municipalities in Pathanamthitta: Adoor, Pandalam, Pathanamthitta and Thiruvalla.
