Perttula
Perttula ( sv, Bertby) is a rural village along the Lopentie road in Nurmijärvi, Finland. Living is focused to agriculture. It's rounded neighboring villages like Uotila, Numlahti, Valkjärvi and Nummenpää. Nurmijärvi's largest village Klaukkala is located eight kilometers southeast of Perttula. Like a lake who gave the municipality its name, there was another lake near the Perttula village called Kuhajärvi, which was also drained in the early 20th century. Nurmijärvi () is the most populated rural municipality of Finland, located north of the capital Helsinki. The neighboring municipalities of Nurmijärvi are Espoo, Vantaa, Tuusula, Hyvinkää and Vihti, and it is part of the Greater Helsinki. The population of the municipality is inhabitants. In recent decades, it has been one of the fastest growing municipalities in the Greater Helsinki and also in whole Finland in terms of population. The close proximity to Helsinki has led to a considerable growth of the major villages such as Klaukkala, Rajamäki and Röykkä. Klaukkala is the biggest built-up area of Nurmijärvi, which nowadays is considered a dormitory town of Helsinki. Perttula Executions
The Perttula executions, also known as the "Perttula Blood Weddings", took place during the Pentecost between May 18 and May 20, 1918 during the Finnish Civil War, when Finnish Whites shot about 30-40 Finnish Reds or suspected communists. The executions took place in the village of Perttula, Nurmijärvi and were carried out by a battalion of Swedish-speaking Western-Uusimaa partisans of the White Guard. It was led by Swedish Lieutenant-Colonel Edward Ward, with former Russian Army officer Ivar Hast and Chief of Defense Ivar Ståhle as the company commanders. The exact number of executions in Perttula is unknown, but the number of victims is estimated at 29-37. The youngest victim was only 16 years old and there were women among the executed. Numlahti
Numlahti ( sv, Numlax) is a rural village in the municipality of Nurmijärvi, close to the village of Perttula and five kilometers from Klaukkala. The Numlahti Manor, which dates back to 1594 and is the oldest manor of the municipality, is located in Numlahti along the Lopentie road. The lands of the manor were separated after the World War II for immigrants who came from Karelia to be redeemed, thus forming a so-called "karelian village". Between Perttula, Uotila (village), Uotila and Numlahti was once lake called Kuhajärvi, which was dried in a field partly in the 1830s and 1850s, and then completely in the 1920s and 1940s. Lopentie
Finnish regional road 132 ( fi, Seututie 132, sv, Regionalväg 132), or Loppi Road ( fi, Lopentie, sv, Loppisvägen) is the road between Finnish national road 3, Highway 3 (European route E12, E12) and Finnish national road 54, Highway 54, which starts at the southern end from the border of Vantaa and Nurmijärvi and at the northern end starts in the municipality of Loppi, right next to the Loppi (village), church village of Loppi. The road is paved, dual lane and 52 miles long. Back in the late 1950s, it was the original main road before the current freeway, and in addition to passing through Loppi, it continued through the remote forest areas of Janakkala all the way to Hämeenlinna. Bernhard Crusell
Bernhard Henrik Crusell (15 October 1775 – 28 July 1838) was a Swedish-Finnish clarinetist, composer and translator, "the most significant and internationally best-known Finnish-born classical composer and indeed, — the outstanding Finnish composer before Sibelius".Sebiography of Crusell by Tel Asiado at Mozart Forum Accessed 31 January 2010. Klaukkala (; sv, Klövskog , ) is the southern-most urban area ( fi, taajama) of the Nurmijärvi municipality in Uusimaa, Finland, located near Lake Valkjärvi. It is the largest urban area in Nurmijärvi, and despite the fact that it officially has the status of a village, it's often mistakenly thought to be a separate town due to its size and structure. In the 2010s, Klaukkala's urban area grew to be part of the larger Helsinki urban area. Klaukkala has a population of over 20,000 and is the fastest-growing area of Nurmijärvi; almost half of the total population of the municipality lives in Klaukkala. Its population began to rise in the 1960s, when it surpassed the church village of Nurmijärvi.
