Persa (play)
''Persa'' ("The Persian") is a comedic Latin play by the early Roman playwright Titus Maccius Plautus. Unusually in this play, the lover is not a wealthy young man helped by a cunning slave, but the cunning slave himself. In order to repay the money he has borrowed to buy his girlfriend from the pimp Dordalus who owns her, Toxilus persuades his friend Sagaristio to dress up as a Persian, in order to trick the pimp Dordalus into paying a large sum to buy a girl who is dressed as an Arabian captive, but who is in fact free. The girl's father Saturio then appears and reclaims his daughter. The play is set in a street in Athens. Facing the audience are two houses, one belonging to Toxilus's absent master, and the other to the pimp Dordalus. ''Persa'' is believed to be one of Plautus's later plays. Among other indications is a reference in lines 99–100 to the "banquet of Jupiter", a custom instituted in 196 BC; another indication is the large number of polymetric . Unlike some othe ...

Finnish Profanity
Profanity in Finnish is used in the form of intensifiers, adjectives, adverbs and particles. There is also an aggressive mood that involves omission of the negative verb ' while implying its meaning with a swear word.Eero Voutilainen. ''.'' Kotimaisten kielten tutkimuskeskus, 2008. Contemporary Finnish profanity often has old origins; several such words have Pagan roots that after Christian influence were turned from names of deities and spirits to profanity and used as such. In general, the etymology of Finnish swears can be traced either from these formerly religious words or from ancient Finnish words involving excretion or sexual organs or functions. Nowadays, few Finns know of the origins and intended original use of the words, though such definitions have since been compiled in ' ("the great dictionary of profanities").Jari Tammi, '. WSOY, 1993. People of countries neighboring Finland often consider Finnish swear words harsher than their own, and even use heavily misprono ...

Koknese () is a town in Aizkraukle Municipality in the Vidzeme region of Latvia, on the right bank of the Daugava River. It has a population of nearly 3,000. According to the provisions of the 2021 Latvian administrative reform, Koknese gained city rights (town status) on 1 July 2021. At the beginning of the 13th century, the crusading Livonian Brothers of the Sword led by Bishop Albert of Buxhoeveden of Riga began to occupy the shores of the Gulf of Riga. By 1205 in return for protection against Lithuanians and Polotsk, the Eastern Orthodox Church prince Vyachko (''Vetseka'') of Koknese gave half of his land to Albert. By 1209 Koknese had been taken over by the Order, whereupon Albert ordered the construction of a stone castle w ...

Perse (mythology)
In Greek mythology, Perse (Ancient Greek: , ') is one of the 3,000 Oceanids, water-nymph daughters of the Titans Oceanus and Tethys. Her name was also spelled as Persa, Persea or Perseis (, '). Perse married Helios, the god of the sun, and bore him several children, most notably the sorceress-goddess Circe. Mythology Perse was one of the wives of the sun god, Helios. According to Homer and Hesiod, with Helios she had Circe and Aeëtes, with later authors also mentioning their children Pasiphaë, Perses, Aloeus,Tzetzes ad Lycophron174/ref> and even Calypso, who is however more commonly the daughter of Atlas. It is not clear why would Perse bear Helios, the source of all light, such dark and mysterious children. When Aphrodite cursed Helios to fall in love with the mortal princess Leucothoe, he is said to have forgotten even about Perse. She seems to have been linked to witchcraft and knowledge of herbs and potions, much like her daughters Circe and Pasiphaë. She might h ...
